“Should A Christian Attend A Divorce Party?”

If I understand well, you are referring to the recent ABC news of a couple who held a divorce party. It is all over the news how a couple is celebrating their divorce after 25 years of marriage. It is not just a travesty; it is aberrational! Many family members attended the ceremony, especially because the couple are happy, and they were doing it for their kids. The kids themselves are happy because they prefer their parents apart than together. In other words, they prefer broken homes to whole homes! Which normal people think that way? If they were happy seeing each other, they would have stayed together. The message is clear; they better separate before they kill each other. They are celebrating that came out alive of the marriage. Therefore, it is a comedy of farce to seek attention. You should know that divorce rates are actually going down and not up. Notwithstanding, a Christian should not attend such a party because it is devilish. You do at least merit an explanation for this position. Don’t you?
The current epoch is one of darkness. They suffer from the “Itchy Ear Syndrome” where they only want to hear nice things about themselves. They turn justice into injustice as the law is ignored and justice is never held. They make the righteous the outcast and celebrate those who extol vanity like the Kardashians. It is a time when women are even allergic to wearing clothes; they only want to walk naked as they have shown during the Awards[1] and the Slut walks.[2] Some of them even regret having kids.[3] The American woman has been too abused that banal good acts are suspicious to her. You offer someone a gift, and she asks you what you want. They are in those abusive relationships that end up with them being killed. The American women are killed by their boyfriends or lovers more than any other women in the western world.[4] They should run to God more than propagate devilish theories! The oppressed should run unto God because “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runs to it, and is safe.”
Our women want to only walk bare-breasted. I am proud of them that they are confident of their bodies, but how do you come to work or the stadium this way?

The western society has come to a point in life when they are drowning in their own vomit, yet they seem to still count on the arm of flesh. Depression is going up,[5] people are getting sicker and even dying younger than before,[6] drug addiction is ravaging the society,[7] and suicide numbers, especially among women are skyrocketing.[8] This period in history is a time when evil is good and good is evil. I stopped and pushed a gentleman man off the road because his car had broken down. I took him to his house, and he wanted to give me $20 because he did not think that I was doing it for nothing. People only greet those they know, so much so that if you greet them regularly, they become suspicious. If you continuously offer your neighbors gifts, they become very unsettled. The problem is, if these very so called Christians and people could read their bibles very well, they will see that the Bible recommends children of God to do good unto everyone (Gal 6:9-10), to greet even strangers(Mt 5: 47) and to love their neighbors as themselves (Lev 19:18; Mk 12:31). Nonetheless, it is that time in history that Paul predicted to Timothy in 3:1-5. Otherwise, how then can anyone called a Christian, a child of God attend a divorce party?
It has no good in it. You heard the journalist ask, “Is it then better for a couple to celebrate their 50th Anniversary while living an unhappy marriage than for them to divorce?” By the way, it is not every long lasting marriage that is unhappy. The majority are happy. The couple’s act is self-serving; it is morally bankrupt and a premonition to ill omens. It foreshadows the last days when evil will be called good and good will be called evil.
Nowadays, divorce is acclaimed and marriage is placed on the media court of decadent public trial. Hear ye, Americans, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20). It is like turning light into darkness. That ceremony is Satan himself masquerading as an angel of light to deceive many because divorce is not of God. Even though it happens and God tolerates it, He does not prescribe it. Human beings do it in the pursuit of their carnal pleasure. It is a resounding and emphatic no, a Christian should not attend a divorce party. It is like attending a ceremony for necromancy or a satanic cult dance. It is like Young Goodman Brown attending The Devil’s Dance of The Forest Ceremony.
All that glitters is not gold. The woman was not happy during the marriage, and she was not happy during the divorce party. You could see the uneasiness and the answer she gave when she was asked if they could reconcile. She said, “He is single; you can have him.” Who throws away a treasure? You see, plastic surgery may repair a damaged face, but a plastic smile will be insufficient for a miserable life. No one is happy to quit from a happy and joyful marriage. There is not a perfect marriage out there, but there is surely a happy marriage out there. I see that in most of my church members. They are happily married for a long time.
The reason why God hates divorce is because it goes at variance with his good intention for humanity. Marriage was to eliminate loneliness, create companionship and a bastion for conceiving and raising children.  You have heard of the Empty Nest Syndrome when parents feel empty after the departure of their grown up kids. That happens because their departure is a precursor to the axiom, “For dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” It reminds the parents that their time is drawing nigh, so they should be ready to meet their Maker.
Consequently, celebrating divorce as a Christian means you are going against the word of God, and "It is hard for thee to kick against the goads (Acts 9:5).” Should I remind you that no mortal, timely or untimely born, conceived naturally or through the test tube can challenge God because “Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him (Ps 115:3).” You can ask Nebuchadnezzar in his own words:

And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honored him that liveth forever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? (Dan 4:34-35).

Therefore, God says he hates divorce (Malachi 2:16). How then can you as a child of God love that which God, your creator hates? It has been proven scientifically that a happy marriage is healthy for the couple and extends their lifespan that is because loneliness kills. Upon creating the institution of marriage, God saw that “It was very good.” Who then is humanity to say that what God has called very good is bad? This is one of those occasions when one could say, “Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.” Eccl 7:29. Otherwise, how can anyone, talk more of a Christian ever celebrate that which God hates? If you as a Christian attends such a wedding, you are justifying their wickedness, and I have a warning for you, “He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.” Prov 17: 15.

Why is domestic violence increasing in the whole country, especially in Arizona, despite all the awareness?

Why is domestic violence increasing in the whole country, especially in Arizona, despite all the awareness?[1]
“How do you know domestic violence is increasing? You always bring bad news but no solutions. When are you going to start providing solutions? You church people are part of the problem.” I have my own weaknesses, but violence or mistreating people is not one of them. While I am not perfect, I am not part of the problem because no woman, anear or afar will tell you I have ever treated her badly. No person who has lived with me can complain of mistreatment. In talking about these things, I am merely bringing awareness. Notwithstanding, these are not my fabrications. Jennifer Marcia of the Trace newspaper writes, “Once Every 16 Hours, An American Woman Is Fatally Shot by a Current or Former Romantic Partner.” I hope that this time you and your cohorts will take them to heart because I have already blogged on domestic violence. Nonetheless, let us consider some factors adding impetus to the permeation of domestic violence.
Evil human nature. The human being is naturally evil. Perhaps to the white women who see me walking towards them and they enter into panic mood because a black man is coming to rape them, they can find solace that the majority of rapists are white men. [2][3] There must be something external to provoke change in people, either God, moeurs or the pride of life. It is not then a surprise to understand why teenagers sometimes tell me that their boyfriends are abusive, yet they still stay around in that toxic relationship. I saw a young man with scratches, and he told me that he and his girlfriend fought.  The human being is naturally a bad person, for we were all born in sin (Ecc. 7:20; Rom 3:23).  We were sharpened in iniquity. Those who are not pruned to altruism or born again harness their evil ways, and that shows up in their treatment of other people. Therefore, people treat other people badly because it is already in the human nature. That is why it is important to be born again. Unfortunately, some of the people who say that they have been born again are more evil than those who have never called the word Jesus Christ with their lips. That is what we call fake religion.
Fake religion.  One of the reasons why domestic violence is 8 times in Arizona than the national average is because the people preach God more than they live him. Many people talk about God more than they live Him. If they lived God as they sang his name, they will at least treat their women right. Is that not a simple logic? When you look at the state, racism is more acute than other places. We are saved by faith and not by works, but works are a manifestation of our regeneration and conversion. If anyone says they know God, they will demonstrate that love for God in the way they treat other people. The way you treat people, especially your own spouse is a sign that you are truly a Christian. Unfortunately, Christian marriages are falling apart just like their non-Christian counterparts that it is difficult now to tell who is a Christian and who is not. The main difference between Christians and non-Christians is that the Christians supposed to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world; unfortunately, some of them emit more darkness and gall. It is not just in words but in action. If we all did that, there will be less domestic violence.
Lack of communication skills. One of the biggest problems is lack of communication skills. People argue about money, property, children, in-laws and it leads to fighting and even death. There is nothing that they cannot talk into a resolution, but they lack those communication skills because they know more of violence. Violence: physical or verbal is the weapon of the weak communicators. Many people nowadays don’t know how to express their points and listen to others express theirs. Young people have embraced this notion that everyone has an opinion, and no one is supposed to kick against the opinions of another person. We live in an era of the itchy ear syndrome when you must only say things that are politically correct. You see, education, formal or informal enriches communication, so many people need to educate themselves. Couples who share communication properly build lasting relationships than the ones whose communication is either a monologue or disjointed. Those who store their hurts in their souls until their entrails become bitter like those of a porcupine only explode later and do not intelligibly express themselves to foster love and bond. If these people will learn how to communicate, they will extend their relationships. These people talk more with strangers on the internet than they talk with their own spouses. Communication increases bond, so lack of communication sets them adrift from each other.  If their wishes cannot make way for them, they resort to violence.
Inability to take adversity. This is a generation we could call “All-Players-Earn-A-Trophy Generation.” Now in most competitions, they offer every participant a trophy or medal for participation so that the losers do not feel inferior and get depressed. You must placate your hearers by not saying anything that remotely may be contentious. These people come into a relationship not ready to hear anything other than their praises. If they lose their jobs or become sick, they do not know how to handle anything, talk less of their own relationships. Every little adversity drives them into depression, and subsequently into medications. As a result, almost every household has a cup or two of medications they take daily. Adversity should not separate lovers; it should bond them more; unfortunately, many people have not learnt how to deal with adversity.  A family that is not bonded together is bound to be violent with each other. You are not always going to win everything, not even every conversation. If they cannot deal with adversity, they turn to violence to seek succor. You should learn to talk out your differences.
Inherited lifestyle. There is continuous domestic violence because the people inherited it from their parents. It is a generational disease. They have grown in families of abuse, so they think it is normal to be abusive, and some are just unaware that they are abusive. You always hear people say that they are acting that way because they were either abused or someone was abusive in their home. They have copied wrong role models. I asked my students what they would do if their wives were to quit them, take part of their wealth because they are rich, and all the boys told me that they will beat her or kill her. Where do you think they got such an idea? They hear their parents’ divorce or see women killed almost every day. Studies show that, “I person dies in Arizona every 3 days.”[4]
Contract (conditioned, temporal, ephemeral) vs Covenant (unconditioned, eternal).  I Cor 7:3-4, Millennials having less sex.[5] Marriage is a bond in love that is sexually administered. That is why desertion is sufficient grounds for divorce (I Cor 7:14-15). Many people confuse contract with covenant. Marriage is a covenant and not a contract. A covenant is a bond between two people unto death do them part. That means, they are in for better or for worse, only death can separate them, no matter the adversity. Examples of adversity include drug addition, love triangles, loss of employment, sickness, and many others. A contract is an agreement that depends on two people keeping their own part of the contract. When you enter into a marriage relationship, it is for life and not only when things are going well. Sadly, many people see it as a contract that quickly vamooses or deserts once reality confronts their idealism. Some even write that, “I was in a marriage where I gave 50% and my spouse did not bring his own 50%.” This utopia leads into divorce because they are disillusioned. In their quest to seek a coping mechanism or even a way out, they embrace violence as their last resort. If many people were coming into relationships and marriage as a covenant, there will be less or no violence at all because you cannot hurt the person you want to spend your entire life with.  In such a relationship ruled by the covenant, character plays a larger role. Keeping the bond does not depend on the other person, it is not 50/50, unlike the current dispensation which believes that for a relationship to be successful, it must be 50/50.
The evil fruits of Carpe Diem.  We live in a culture of Carpe Diem. The culture we now live in does not uphold loyalty as a virtue; it upholds fun over loyalty. Consequently, many are “Living Sick and Dying Young in Rich America.”[6]That is why people leak secrets of their jobs, betray people who trusted them so much because they believe in having fun more than being loyal. Domestic violence keeps increasing because people care much about themselves than others. They watch pornography and try to use the information on their significant others who cannot measure to that illusion sold on the giant screen. This irritates them, and they turn violent. Pornography and other societal vices have added impetus to the increase in domestic violence.
The last but not the least is because the abused neither speak out nor speak up. I still remember when I was a young leader. We visited another leader, and he told us something. We were talking about a scene in church that was caused by another leader's wife. He told us that his wife cannot behave like that. He said to us, " You see my wife sitting there, she is very stubborn. That is her whip over there, pointing at a whip hung behind a picture frame that was hung on the wall. On our way back, the young man asked me, " Saint, did you hear what he said? I told him that I heard very well, but we will take car e of it. One day, I visited him but I met only his wife. She told me that her husband still beat her up. She knew that I was the only one who could bring it in the open without fear or respect of person. She pled with me not to let him know that she told me. I went to him, and I said, " Elder, I heard that you used to beat your wife, and you confirmed it yourself. If I ever hear it again, I will expose it in church. Months later, I asked the wife, and she said, " Thank you so much. He has changed so much and so fast." It is important to expose wife or husband abusers. If you don't do that, they persist with their evil ways, but if you expose them, they may abandon it.
Therefore, for domestic violence to reduce and finally end, we must be truly born again. That shows in our character and how we treat other people too. We should learn to communicate better. Every human being should understand that adversity will show up in life, but that should drive them closer to the person they love. Parents should serve as better role models for their kids in the way they treat their spouses because your children are watching, and you should not be surprised if they turn abusive. The abused should speak up or speak out to bring attention tot heir plight. You can put this in your tea and rink it, morning and evening or as needed: marriage is a covenant and not a contract. It is for better or for worse and not when things are going fine. It is not only when the money is coming in; it is also when the well dries up. Finally, you should seek virtue over fun, for life is too short to go after short lived enjoyment that bring long term hurt.

Beware earthly paradise seekers because there is a serpent in every paradise"(Hamilton Ayuk). "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable." (I Cor 15:19). Slut-Walk: Good or Evil?

“Rev, your girls are at it again. Would you accept a sister in Christ to do a slut-walk?”
Your heart always goes out for people who are protesting because something indeed does bother them. I have seen and watched so many slut-walks, but until you asked this question, I have never had the mind to look at it morally or in whatever way that is possible. Does the Bible encourage people to walk naked? Does it recommend for people to be careless? Would it be prudent to ask a child molester to take your child for a forest expedition? Would it be a wise idea to ask Hitler to be the keeper of the Jews? Would God defend a female prison guard who decided to walk naked in front of the Condamnés à mort in a maximum security jail? Should God protect a diver who knowingly dives into a crocodile pond? These are all questions that when asked and answered will give us a position by the end of this lesson.
It is difficult to just say that God is against slut-walks because there is an element of protest that God approves. The ethos of Christian freedom is coded with the fight for the oppressed. Surely, women who are raped or abused are being oppressed and should be protected. Therein comes the protests and morality thereof. Therefore, I will look at it in terms of the Bible to see what God says about certain elements of the Slut-walk. Perhaps it is expedient that we establish the substratum of the Slut-walk.
Slogans like “Consent is a human right,” “Consent is mandatory” and “Coercion isn’t consent” are placards of predilection. Indeed that is supported in articles 1, 3 and 5 of The International Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The problem with these preambles is that they assume that every human being is going to respect the law. It is an ideal against reality. It is a Christmas wish as to what Santa actually delivers.  Indeed another element of the Slut-walk is, “My body My Rules,” is a banal placard. The problem with this axiom is that their bodies do not belong to them. Any woman who claims that her body belongs to her is wrong! No mortal owns his/her body. Our bodies belong to God who created them (I Cor. 3:16; 6:19-20). Therefore, it is erroneous for any woman to claim her body belongs to her, and it is even degrading for any woman to call herself a slut. No human should call any woman a "slut," neither the woman herself. You cannot use foul or abusive language (Eph 4: 29-30).
Socially they may be right, but biblically they are right in some and wrong in others. They are right that they should be protected from being raped, and their rapsists should be punished. They are right that they should not be abused, and they should be able to dress and walk freely. It is true that the bible advocates for decency (I Cor 14:40), but there are times when protests supersede decency. As such, they are also right to walk naked, if the need be to protest for injustice as we have seen in the bible (Is 20:3; Micah 1:8).
Nevertheless, that liberty goes in variance with the Social Contract Theory because they have accepted to live under the rules of the society, and the society had then accepted to protect them. The society has guidelines on how people should dress and walk in public. A violation thereof that decorum and probity forfeits the individual’s rights to be protected per say.
The slut-walkers say, “No one asked what my attacker was wearing.” In Amsterdam, there was a banner on the entrance to a train station that read, “Beware of pickpockets!” If you ignored it and your wallet or purse was stolen, the police had no recourse for you. When I was growing up, there were many signs of PowerCam- electric company of a human skull with two red signs crossing over that black skull superimposed on a white background that read, “Don’t Touch, Death- Electrocution.” People who were killed trying to steal electricity from the place were never given any befitting burial because their deaths were almost like those who committed suicide. Let us say that your neighbor has a sign that reads, “Beware wild dogs,” but you decided to trespass into his/her yard. If his or her dogs reenacted Nero’s “Damnatio Ad Bestias,” then every pint of your blood was squandered due to your careless and foolishness.
Solomon said this, “The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.” (Proverbs 22:3). In Chapter 27 verse 12 he added that "they are punished." They are punished for their imprudence because they knowingly saw danger, but they decided to walk headlong into it. If a woman decided to put herself in a place where she is raped, she should bear the brunt of her imprudence. That does not mean that people condone rape or abuse.
There is a reason why we have gates, doors and locks in our homes. They are for precautionary reasons. A woman who is too imprudent to expose herself to danger in her lifestyle and is raped, cannot blame the society for their impulsiveness. Those who do it do not have the support of the society, and the society bears no blame for the iniquity of the transgressors. Albeit, the law may find them recourse and remedy. Consequently, it is in the best interest of any woman to protect herself in whatever way possible, starting with her lifestyle.

Until then, slut-walk is not women's rights!

Why is depression rising among teen girls?

What worries me is the conclusion of this article. It stated, “’The causes behind a rise in adolescent depression should be investigated scientifically,’ wrote the co-authors of the editorial, Dr. Anne Glowinski, a professor of child psychiatry at Washington University in St. Louis, and Giuseppe D'Amelio, a medical student at the university.” They remind me of  2 Timothy 3:6-7, “For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” I want you to underline the last two phrases, “ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
The increase in suicide rates could be a predictor of the level of depression because suicide and depression seem to be identical or even conjoint twins. We all accept that depression is on the rise amongst teenagers, especially teenage girls. The article stated that it is due to cyber bullying. What is the scientific study again for?  The majority of teenage girls who are bullied are bullied because of their body image. They do not like the way their bodies are. They do not believe that they are beautiful. They do not fit the typical woman our own very mundane society has created. The shadows of their bodies reflecting on the media mirror do not fit the picturesque of preferred stars. They fall short of the typical beautiful woman. Consequently, we all agree there is a problem; however, we disagree on how this is being treated. Despite the high usage of medications, depression and suicide seem to increase, perhaps making a statement that “Medications alone do not work that too well.”
Why are teenage girls easily cyber-bullied? What are they bullied about?"  They are bullied about their body image. The teenager at this age is a victim of an imaginary audience that she believes is omnipresently cheering for or against her body image.  Those jeers penetrate into her subconscious and into her psyche, leading to depression. The solution then is not the end of bullying because bullying has existed since time immemorial;meanwhile, depression still did not rise, but it has become more acute with the permeation of technology and social media. The young people should be taught that people are too busy to concentrate all their time, looking at them. They should be taught on how to build better body image. People spend more time on their bodies than their souls, so we have a world of beautiful people doing ugly things. Unfortunately, the Americans have got it all wrong with the treatment plan.
When we were growing up, my parents always told us that, “Moh nfor apu di kenogho.” It means, “The prince/princess does not seek recognition.” We grew up never seeking for external validation. Like a leopard, we could not change our spots, so we knew that within our veins flew regal blood, no matter the impression of our cronies or crucifiers, friends or foes, aficionados or gainsayers, myrmidons or dictators. We knew our worth! Do your daughters know their worth?
Our teenagers must be taught to understand that who they are as people is beyond what their bodies carry. Their bodies are mere carcasses holding the real person underneath. It is for that reason that Duncan says in Mabeth, “There is no art to find the man's construction in the face." (Macbeth Act 1, Scene 4). If you cannot look at someone’s face and tell what they are thinking, then you cannot look at someone’s body to tell their character or worth in general. Understanding their worth is not based on the body image thereof. If I end here, then I have failed in my treatment plan. What if they are depressed? What about the millions of teenage girls who are depressed?
Considering that most of them are depressed because of their body images, we need to prescribe the best way of building a positive body image. There are no other ways than eating right, exercising, cultivating better family ties and creating better role models for them.
The young people should be encouraged to exercise rather than be encouraged to medicate for their bodies. They should be taught to eat right rather than feed them with junk and expect them to feel good. If you give your stomach junk to eat, your body should be ready to dance when Fat plays its music.  That music is discordant at all times, whether you are asleep or awake.
A student told me today that he was glad that Trump won, so he would be able to drink soda in school. He said that Michelle Obama wanted to do away with fat children, so they prohibited the sale of sodas in school. Teenagers should be taught that eating right is for their own good and not that of anyone else because the society is cruel in the way it judges body image.  You can pamper them now that it is ok to eat what they like, but you will not be there to weep with them when the society rejects their obese bodies.
If children have good family ties, they will be less depressed. Today, there are constant familiquakes. Lives are torn apart, and the pieces are recycled by depression. It is rare to find whole families. There are too many blended unblended families. Parents are too deep in their pursuit of good times that they spend less time on building great families. Families should go back to the basic of family building. Most of these kids need just someone to talk to, to show them interest and to show them that they care. Medicating them is not caring. The more the children act up, the more medications they are drowsed with. What about parents just staying at home and spending time with the kids? What about doing activities of image building, like exercising together, playing together, telling stories together, eating together, praying together and visiting neighbors or doing good works together?
The kids are victims of the copycat syndrome where they imitate what they see. Most of their role models are the Hollywood and sports stars whom themselves are sectaries of Carpe Diem. Those role models are manufactured in the media industry and sold to them wholesale on TV, social media, churches and their schools. How about parents being the proper role models for their kids?
Are you happy with your body image? Do you believe you are beautiful as a woman, or do you need someone to validate you? If you need external forces to validate you, then your daughter will follow suite. The same black pod disease that caught the coffee pod is the same that catches the cocoa pod, so farmers beware! If all your daughter hears is plastic surgery and lamentations about your body, she will follow suite. You should rather stay positive about your body image. The basket that is constantly used for fishing may not hold water, but it always appears very clean.
As we drumbeat these elements into our daughters, they may not hold everything within, but they will be cleansed of all the superficialities that drag them into the depression cesspool. Depression is rampant, and it is walking along with its sister called suicide. They are dragging vulnerable teenage girls (especially) and boys along their path, so parents beware. Your child may be next, if you do not do anything. You should build the self-esteem of your child through their eating habits, exercises, family ties and being the best role model they should emulate.

Until then, I wish all my teenagers out there well.

Khabib Nurmagomedov: The uncrowned UFC Lightweight Champion

On this 205 fight card of Saturday, November 12 2016, I wanted to see three fights: Tyron Woodley vs Stephen Thompson, Joel Romero vs Chris Weidman and above all see Michael Johnson vs Khabib Nurmagomedov.  I will take a minute to appreciate only one of them: the Dagestan:  Khabib Nurmagomedov. His nickname: The eagle is befitting because the more skilled the opponent, the higher he flies. He makes champions look like amateurs. His mannerisms are confusing like his style is to his opponent. He seems the only Muslim who makes the sign of the cross, I suppose. After he won his fight, he called for a title fight which is well merited.
The UFC has her own polity and the argument it makes at times is that Khabib easily gets hurt or he cannot sell fights. There is a verse in the bible that makes me like this man: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Ecclesiatses 9:10. I believe that whenever you want to do something, you should do it with all your heart and not halfheartedly. That is why he sometimes hurts himself. Even though he hurts himself, he has still fought 8 times in the UFC. There are many people who have not been hurt as he has, but they have not fought as many times as he has done. In addition, whoever he has fought, he has been a sheer wonder to watch. He has made all and every opponent, no matter how good or what has been their pedigree look like a journey man.
His striking is very good and his grappling is without comparison (the most takedowns in a UFC match 21 out of 27 against Abel Trujillo). He is the best grappler in the lightweight business and arguably the best in the UFC. That made him to control all his opponents in the octagon in his aggressiveness. One thing many do not realize is how good his striking is. Perhaps I should just state his record a little bit. He is 24-0 (8 TKOs, 8 submissions and 8 decisions) in his MMA career and 8-0 in the UFC. From his record, you can tell that he is a well-rounded fighter.
How do you know he will not sell fights, if you do not give him an opportunity? When I was made the assistant national coordinator of the Universities in the Full Gospel Mission, people began to say that I was too young, but when I began to spread the mission and the universities, age was now just a number.
The advantage of giving Nurgamemedov a title shot makes more financial, expansion and moral sense because he is well liked in Russia which has a population of 143.5 million.  The PPV will be huge, and the interest into MMA will increase. The UFC will be able to widen their market. It is inexplicable how a man can be that dominant, yet he is not given a title shot.  The best should fight for titles and not only fighters who bring in money. It devalues that title. The title does no more become by merit but by affinity. If you are looking at any dominant champion, it is clear that Khabib Nurmagomedov is the uncrowned champion who is being treated poorly by the UFC.
Yesterday again was something to behold. When the fight began, I heard the commentators talk about ring rust, but as the fight wore down and Khabib laid his hands on Johnson, it was correct if we all recited, “Johnson beware because the same grappling that rag dolled Trujillo, also rag dolled Rafael Dos Anjos." It was just a matter of time before we all saw the end of Johnson’s resistance.  What then could hold the UFC from giving him a title shot? Who can deny him that title shot? His record and act in the octagon make it really impossible for the UFC to do that. The man has earned his title shot, so UFC should give it to him. As for now, he is the uncrowned UFC lightweight champion.

Until then, let people be judged by what they know and not who they know.

Some of the November 8 votes in the United States.

They voted Trump. Trump was knocked out until WikiLeaks started its second batch of emails leaks which revealed the collusion and connivance of the Dems plotting against one of their one-Bernie Sanders. The things Podesta said about Hillary Clinton were really damning, and the final nail to her coffin came with the FBI indictment. It took steam out of people who felt that she could indeed not be trusted with state secrets if government emails could be found in Weiner’s computer. It is was as if friends were dealing with personal files. Thank God for WikiLeaks; perhaps people would be aware now not to gossip people that way. Some people have been sued when caught, but this one will go free because she is a public figure. I had supported Trump until the first debate when he could not condemn “Stop and Frisk.” I don’t have respect for anyone who thinks that because I am a black man, I am going to commit a crime. His elections also showed that women don’t care about locker room talk, no matter how it pears to be. Any man or woman who pretends that they have never heard such talks are just plain hypocrites. It also shows that America is not ready for a female president because many women did not even vote for Hillary. Trump's success always shows where the majority of people stand on race, misogyny and religion. Despite trump being openly misogynistic, racist and against Muslims, he was still voted. Nonetheless, a deplorable has become an incontestable.

Measure 2 · No.  Allows the state to issue bonds for post-secondary student loans. They refuse to buy into Sanders’ idea of alleviating student loans burden.

Proposition 205, No · Legalizes the private use, possession, and manufacture of limited amounts of marijuana.  This was a smart choice because they already have medical marijuana. They could not afford the combo of marijuana with the onslaught of heroine ravaging the state at this hour. The havoc would have been too cumbersome.

Proposition 60. No · Requires adult film performers to use condoms when filming, and other health regulations. The people said no, we don’t want it. Now, remember that until 1889, the legal Age of Consent in California was 10. They don’t want to wear condoms even in public; it tells you how many condoms they were in secret.
Proposition 64. Yes. Legalizes marijuana for use by adults 21 and over. The people want to smoke weed after they reach 21. Their crime rates are going up, but they seem not to even learn a lesson. At least, every child has something to aspire to; just reach 21 and smoke weed.

Amendment 72. Disallows the use of prisoners for involuntary unpaid labor. The people do not see anything bad with prisoners being forced to work. That is slave labor, especially because it is not everyone who is in jail or prison who actually committed the crime. \

Amendment 1 · No. Allows the state to intervene in failing public schools. They refused that the state should intervene in failing schools. Superficially, it would seem a bad idea, but when you look at what is happening with DFCCs, it is clear that kids should not be in the hands of the states.

Question 3 No. Requires background checks on gun sales between non-licensed dealers. The people of Maine do not want thorough background checks for gun owners. Hahahahahaha.

South Dakota
Referred Law 20 · No. Lowers the minimum wage for non-tipped employees under the age of 18. Their state lawmakers wanted to reduce the minimum wage (8:55/hr) for non-tipped employees. Why would you reduce the minimum wage? Thank God this one did not even pass.

Notwithstanding, whatever the Americans voted for, it shows that democracy works. It confirms that one does not need to have godfathers or godmothers to make it. It enforces the notion that the American Dream is alive. Behold, a deplorable has emerged incontestable! God can confound the wisdom of this world indeed!

The White Teachers and Their Black Students.

A few months ago, I read this article[1], so when my cousin was trying to tell me about white teachers discriminating against black kids, I told him that I will just take 30 minutes to reply to him in an article because I have heard this now like 4 times within the past 30 days. I have pastored in Bambui where I was the only person from another tribe. I led youth groups and university ministries in Yaoundé where there is a constant conflict between the Francophones and Anglophones, and I have lived with both whites and blacks in the United States, so I know a little bit about tribalism and racism. Many things that are considered racist are either misunderstanding or misbehavior. I am not saying that there are no racist teachers. They are in all colors. There is systemic and systematic racism even in school discipline and the way schools are catered for. However, my task this afternoon is just to show some of the things that are misconstrued as racism between the white teacher and the black student.
I hear black and Hispanic kids always tell me that this and that white teacher is a racist. One day a group of black kids came to see me. I asked them why they were not in class. They told me that their teachers did not like them. They said, “You know dem white people don’t want black people in their school.” The problem is that even me who is a black man, I will not want any student who prefers to loiter around the school premises rather than go to class. I will look for means to expel them. That is not a case of racialism. You do not need to like a teacher to do his work. It is like saying that because you don’t like a certain mayor, you are going to break all the municipal ordinances.
Sometimes they will tell me things like, “He is failing me because he does not like black people.” When I probe them more to give me concrete examples, they will tell me things like, “I went to the restroom, and she marked me absent.” Then I call the teacher to find out the truth. The teacher tells me she went to the restroom and stayed there for 30 minutes.  I want you to just imagine that you are that teacher. Your class is 52 minutes long, and every day, a student goes to the restroom for 30 minutes. Would you consider them present? The rule is that, if a student went to the restroom and was there for more than 10 minutes, the said student should be marked absent. Whether the teacher does that with white students or not, it does not matter. Simply because 23 kids from a Sarajevo high school went to a field trip and 7 came back pregnant[2] does not mean that every girl should go to a field trip and come back pregnant. Underage pregnancy is wrong, whether you are punished or not.
Another example was a black kid who would not stop using her cell phone in class because “She was talking to her mom.” She thinks that talking to her mom is more important than obeying the classroom rules of not using her phone. She thinks that the teacher writing her up is because she hates her as a black person. I tried to explain to her that I did not see it as racism, but she insisted that I could not understand racism. The same thing many black people always tell me. I mean, who is that black man in The United States who does not understand racism?
One time a black student told me that he was being suspended from school because the white administrator does not like black people; he is suspending him just because he was caught with just a little joint. I asked him if the cannabis belonged to him, and he accepted. I told him that it was not racism; he was suspended for breaking the law. He tried to argue that white kids don’t get suspended with such an amount. It does not matter. If you do not want vultures to eat your corpse, you don’t die in an open field.” Our people will say. If you swim in a shark infested ocean, then you are tired of living and want the sharks to use you for lunch, and lunch you will become. It is not because they planned to have you for lunch; you just happened to be in the wrong place at the right time.
Sometimes I don’t even know if the word racism is used properly. Listen, I have had black kids call me racist. If you point out that a student is not well dressed because they are sagging, it would be considered racist. If you tell a student that you will not take his/her assignment after 2 weeks of lateness, it would be considered racism. If you tell a student not to come late, it would be considered racism.
One time there was a white student who was very disruptive in her Spanish class. The teacher was a white guy. He asked her several times to be respectful, but she ignored him. He asked her to leave his class, so he brought her to my class. As usual, I asked her why she was put out of class, and she told me that, “This stupid, racist white man put me out. He does not even know how to teach.” Coincidentally, the teacher was returning to my class to give her work, so he overheard her very clearly. He then gave her the devil’s steer. She did not back down. Instead, she followed up with, “Yes, you heard me well: you stupid white man.”  The man charged towards her, and I held him down and spoke some words of patience and self-control into him. Can you imagine if a black student had called him "stupid white man," or can you imagine if a white student calls me the N-word like the black students have done several times?  Everyone will call that student racist! Now can you imagine a white teacher call a black student the N-Word, even though many black people use the same very offensive word?
People have to be careful when they attribute racism to every adverse action. There are many kids who lack tutelage, but many don’t get it because they have scared teachers from ever helping them for fear they are accused of racism.
My cousin told me that he wanted to teach, so I told him to come and visit me in school. I asked my colleagues if we could sit in their classes during my planning, so he will get a feel of what he intended to do. In one of the classes, it was a white lady, and almost all the students were black. They were unwilling to learn, disruptive and unruly. After the class, my cousin asked me why the teacher was not saying anything. I advised him to ask her, and she told us that if she does anything now, they will say that she is racist. She told us that her husband is not working, and she is the only bread winner.  She has to select her battles. That position is not strange. It is a position that many teachers are taking now with students of different colors for fear they are called racist. If they have not done so, they will be doing so very soon because it is not worth the stress. Then you will have your kids who graduate from school uneducated or who may not even graduate because they ran into trouble.
When I was growing up, many students moved in to live with our teachers. I still remember parents calling me and telling me that their children were in my hands, so they wanted me to raise them up to be  better people. Now, every accusation a student brings, the parents believe it. If the teacher is the opposite color, then they tag him or her as racist.
Folks, its takes a village to raise up a child. If we continue like this, the teachers, the parents and especially the students are the losers. You see that middle school suicide has risen, and suicide amongst teenage girls has increased three times. These kids are with these teachers for about 8 hours or more a day, so they exert more influence on them, but you have scared them to a point where they cannot be truthful to your own kids. The parents must think clearly before they believe a racism accusation labeled on the teacher. If you want the white teachers to have an impact in the lives of the black kids, you must give them your full support and trust. It goes both ways.

Until then, let us support one another so we will better serve our kids.

Do You Esteem Others Better Than Yourself?

“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.” The verse means that we should not try to impress others; we should always put others first. In My school, there is a sign that reads, “How do you behave when no one is looking?” There are many people who are very selfish and will do things only when they know that someone is there. I read a news article about Melania Trump saying that we are becoming meaner to each other, and people got on her about her husband. People should make an introspection rather than transfer their aggression. Ask yourself: how am I treating other people? “Am I treating them as if they are better than me, or am I treating them as if I am better than them?’
If you go to Christian websites, you will see people who are calling others some horrible names with fake names. Perhaps it explains why our children are leaving the faith. This year alone, I know three kids who started the class as God's worshipers only to tell me that they have each stopped going because people are two-faced. Those same people will not speak like that if they thought that someone knew them. Clear examples are the people who have been busted during basketball games flipping single or double birds to players. Once their pictures appear on national TV, they apologize. They are not apologizing because they feel bad; they are doing it because they have been exposed and the cloak of holy person has been disrobed. The question I must ask again is “How do you live your life when no one is looking?”
Sometimes I go into our male restroom and see papers that have been thrown on the ground, and I pick and throw them into the bin. The truth about it is that those men who have thrown those papers on the floor will not leave them there if they knew that someone was looking at them because human beings are too selfish, and they like to impress others. A humble person does not need you to see him when he is doing good works.
If what Melania said makes sense, then we should pause and consider, rather than deflect it to her husband. Her husband is another entity. Each time I attend a school football game, I will see at least 20 kids who will tell me how much I meant to them and how much my stories lifted up their spirits. About two weeks ago as I stood at the entrance, two ladies in their turns came to tell me thank you for making them feel very good about themselves. It was just for the few good words I said to them, “Hello Boss lady, happy to see you today!” She is not my boss and I don’t even know her. However, showing her that attention with those good works, acknowledges her presence.
A few years back I visited a friend in Florida. We went to the store with her, the husband and another friend who was visiting. I saw a gentleman, and I greeted him, “Hey boss, how you are doing?”  The man was startled. He looked over his shoulders, not sure if I was talking to him. I said, “Yes, boss, how are you doing?” He said "fine." During this time, my three friends who were all blacks have moved away quickly. They have always told me not to call people boss because I make them feel too important. Meanwhile, that is what the bible says though. The man then began to tell me that I did not know what I just did to him. He has been dreaming if he will ever be called a boss because he did into have much education. To hear me call him boss, motivates him to strive to that position.
Folks, I lose nothing calling anyone boss. You lose nothing treating others as if they are more important than you. I always ask myself, “Lord, if I died today, who will say that I touched their lives? “How do you treat others when no one is looking?" How do yo talk about others when they are not there? How do you help or would you help others if no one was looking?
Just of recent, I received a phone call in my class. In my usual fashion I said, “Hey boss man, how are you? A black female student asked me who I was talking to. I told her Mr. so and so, who is white by the way. “The little girl went berserk and even stomped out of the classroom because “You make black people look bad before these white folks.” I do the same thing with everybody, no matter their color. The word of God is more important than what we think and feel. It says that esteem others (no matter their color or race) better than you. You have no choice but to respect and practice the word of God.
Just of recent again I had an evaluator visit my class. She came at the exact time I was talking to a student who had been feeling bad the previous day. When the evaluator entered, she joined us in the conversation, and the student asked me who her case manager was. I said that I was the one. Then she said, “Oh, I thought you were just nice to me because you did not want to make me feel left out amongst your caseload students because you are always too nice to the other kids.” The evaluator interjected quickly, “Oh honey, he is not supposed to show preferential treatment.” What she did not know was that for me, it is not because they are students nor on my caseload; it is because the Bible says, “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
My dear friends, middle school suicide is increasing and suicide as a whole has jumped up.[1] Medications are not working, so we should try treating everyone better. That will give many of those who feel left out in this world hope; hope that will help them face tomorrow. Let us not politicize the words of Melania Trump. Let us merely answer the question, “How do you live your life when no one is looking?” Do you hide behind fake names, ghost names to send out mean tweets or write despicable comments to your adversaries or those who think or look different from you? How do you talk about others when they are not present? Do you help people when no one is looking? You have your conscience to listen to, if at all you have one.

Until then, let us esteem each other more than ourselves.
