Rachel Canning: A Sample Of The Entitlement Generation.

This is one of those cases of washing dirty family linens in public. This is not about over controlling parents; it is about an unruly child who thinks she is entitled to everything, even what she does not merit. If it was a soccer match, I would have loved to be the referee and see how well it goes. In which world are we living? Doesn't she qualify to be called a spoiled brat? She does not want to live by the rules of her parents, but she wants to enjoy the rights of being their child. You are either a child and obey instructions, or you are not and you disobey. The judge threw out her request for living expenses and legal fees. It is a catch 22 because the parents are the victims here. They will still pay for the legal fees. If they refuse to pay, the lawyers will pursue their daughter and at that time, the parents will intervene to bail her out in order to protect her credit score.
The three people at fault are Rachel Canning, her lawyer and the father of her boyfriend. It would seem when lawyers see money, even the most decent one loses every decency. How would a lawyer who is a parent accept to take such a case? Lawyers are like vultures; they circle around dead game. If not there is no reason why any reasonable lawyer or responsible lawyer and mother will accept to represent a wayward teenager; a child who has refused to obey the direction of the parents and had claimed emancipation. If she is free to suck from straws and offer her theobroma cacao to men out there, why can't she use the proceeds for her upkeep?
Another culprit who is so responsible is the father of the boyfriend who funded the lawsuit. One would think that as parents, they will contact Rachel's parents to seek out mediation or reconciliation. Nay, instead they stoke the flames of family discord and let the Canning family glow to ashes. If the case was granted, it would have opened the floodgates from the Entitlement Generation on their baby Boomers parents. Sooner, Rachel and other spoiled brats of the Entitlement Generation will sue their parents to buy them the beds on which they bang their Johnnys. After that, she will seek another court judgment where the judge will order her parents to stand and see her  bump and grind her boyfriend to show them that she is not their property.
The Entitlement Generation does not want to do anything anymore. They are hoping to cash on the reserves of their parents. The parents should be careful because she has already shown them what type of deposits lay aground the seabed of her heart. We have seen kids collude with their boyfriends to kill their parents  when they object to the choice of lovers.  I have had people ask me if I took into consideration the parable of the prodigal son. It is the same Bible that tells parents to train a child the way he should grow (Prov 22:6). Rachel is still young and should be groomed before she becomes a monster. It is easier to make a monster, but it is impossible to tame it. Now is the taming period. By the way. love does not exempt discipline as even God disciplines those he loves (Prov 3:12; Heb 12:6). It is only a bastard who is not disciplined (Heb 12:8).
Compare the baby boomers with the Entitlement Generation; the baby boomers wanted freedom from God and the Entitlement Generation want freedom from parents. If she wanted money for college, the parents were ready for that. If she just wanted freedom, she would have just moved out quietly. Not being under the parents tutelage would have qualified her for financial aid. However, since she thinks that she can eat her cake and have it, she decided to sue them so that the judge will bully her parents to acquiesce and give her all that she wants; waywardness and the assess of her parents. I only hope that she is grateful to Sandra Fluke for convincing the government to build  a national slut machine where women can collect free contraceptives.
From her behavior, it is likely that she will dump her parents into the nursing home once they get old just as many are doing now. If she was intelligent enough, she should have played nice and the windfall of her obedience will follow suite. On the contrary, paying for her bills while on her elopement was like paying for her rebellion. I hope the judge denies everything. I also hope that the parents drastically reduce her advantages. If she wants to live long and happy, she should obey and honor her parents because God's word does not lie. It says, " Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee." The disrespect to parents by the baby boomers is the reason this current generation lives in this predicament we are in right now.

I could not end without letting you all know that on Tuesday, march 18, 2014, Rachel canning dropped the suit against her parents. it is a noble act and a sign that she is on her way to repentance.
Until then, Rachel should repent of her sins and seek the trust of her parents. By her moving back to her parents and subsequently dropping, she throws the ball into her parents court. They must find out why their beloved daughter would turned against them in such a manner. Bitzer was a product of Grandrind and Bounderby and Sissy Jupe was his foil. Children could easily be products of their parents' philosophies.
