Lolo Jones: The Rubicon of American Liberalism.

For years now many have wondered how far America has fallen into the hands of liberals. Looking at Tim Tebow and Lolo Jones, no one will make a mistake if they say Icabod! How on earth does it become anathema when a girl extols virginity? Few stars and sports icons can truly be called role models because they are not. Most of those called role models parading themselves as readers to kids cannot even read. You and I know very well that they were promoted to graduate from high school and college. Here comes a young beautiful woman who could sleep ten men a day if she wanted and the line will still be long from dusk to dawn, saying that she is a virgin and tout de suite her name becomes a Jonah. Writers and journalists scribble gibberish that she is popular because of her off the track drama. Jere Longman affirms that, “This was based not on achievement but on her exotic beauty and on a sad and cynical marketing campaign.” What is devilish about his article[1] is that he even wrote it days before the young woman will compete in the games.
It has become a common practice for liberals and mainstream journalists to ridicule Christian athletes who come out with their faith. They do not do the same thing with lesbians like Megan Rapinoe or homosexuals Michael Sam; instead, they eulogize them for coming out of the closet. [2] Why is it acceptable for Megan Rapinoe to openly say she is gay, but it is not tolerable for Lolo Jones to say she is a virgin?
It is ludicrous to compare Lolo Jones with Anna Kounikova.  In Kournikova’s entire career, she won only one ITF developmental tournament in 1996. On the contrary, Lolo Jones is the American indoors record holder in 60 M hurdles and two world indoor titles. How could Longman not see that Lolo Jones has at least 5 titles and garnered 11 All-American honors while at LSU? In 2008, in Valencia, Spain and in 2010, in Doha, Qatar, she won the Hurdles 60 M World Indoor championships. Would Longman tell us what Kournikova won? More so, it is not like she was the last during the 100 M hurdles in London; she was fourth in the race, barely missing out on the medal stand probably because of low morale ensued from Longman’s screed.
Most importantly, he should have written his article after the race and not before the race, for it would not be wrong to insinuate or infer that he contributed to her demise because he destroyed her self confidence before the race with his badinage. While Longman is merely doing his job, he should abreast himself with facts rather than sentiments when next he sits on his computer.
How and why would her virginity become a jinx to her races when it should instead add impetus to her efficiency? Aren’t athletes strongly discouraged from having sex during times of competition not to slow them down, yet, to Lolo Jones, it is a handicap? It is a handicap because she has not elevated debauchery to a higher pedestal as most other American sweethearts. Shouldn’t a girl like Lolo Jones become the perfect role model who has eluded this country? She is not being marketable only because of her beauty or histrionics but because of her talents, and the moral virtues she portrays.
If her declaration that she is a virgin is true, she should be encouraged as she serves as a paragon to youngsters nowadays who follow the Zeitgeist of sexual promiscuity. It will even be impossible not to believe that she is a virgin as one of the money grabbing men would have appeared for a tell-it-all interview. The backlash about her performance is just a pretext; the real reason is her virginity. “How dare her suggest we should live holy lives” is the reason most are hitting their heads on the walls.
Isn’t it time for Americans to set their priorities straight? In that case, isn’t it time for virgins to be enskied? In this present time where kids as young as 13 are carriers of STDS, one would think that sensible people will take the baton of her statement and run a relay with it. Instead, they find it distasteful, qualified only for derision.  Don’t we see that our young people need true role models?
To be a successful athlete is a good thing, but to be one with morals should even be better and sweeter for all Americans to embrace. Tim Tebow is always ridiculed not for his poor performance but because of his beliefs. Neither Lolo nor Tebow has alluded to being a Christian as not having sex. However, it is a sign of your belief in Christ when you do not live in decadence.
Unfortunately, many question her faith because in 2009, she posed for ESPN The Magazine's 'Body Issue. It is sanctimonious to consider her pose as nudity or semi nudity when nudity deals with only thegenitals.
Nonetheless, I will encourage her to put on the whole armor of God, to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and to bear the fruit of the Spirit for therein are her weapons of war in this hedonistic world and country. She must and should not give up to those who have received heart transplants from Lucifer. Lolo, you did not medal in London, so you must remember where you have fallen. You should lace on your shoes and get down to work. It is time to give glory to God and leave your footprints where legends have walked.

Until then, I pray the Almighty will protect and replenish you with success.
