Should The Church Ask For Medical Tests for Bride And Bridegroom?

Should The Church Asks For Medical Tests for Bride And Bridegroom?
“Is it carnal for the church to ask for tests; should marriage be based on compatibility or on love, and does prayer change a bad situation from the compatible partners?” The first two questions deal with the traditions of men versus the word of God, and the third question deals with presumption versus faith. In the above questions, one has to dichotomize the difference between the traditions of men against the commandments of God. We will merely compare them with the commandments of God since the word of God must be the guiding principle (Mt 4:4; 2 Tim 3:16-17; Rom 15:4). Then we will use biblical principles to correlate with our faith and set the variance with presumptuousness.
Marriage is a three aspect covenantal union in love, sexually administered. It is a covenant because it is a life and death commitment (Rom 7:1-4). Marriage has three aspects: a covenant, a covenant in love, and a covenant in love sexually administered. Every covenant must have an agreement, an oath, sacrifice, witness and a feast. If marriage is thus a bond in love, then it is wrong to follow those tests for they augur an ill omen. We do not need to come into the covenant as perfect people; we need to have love and be able to have sex since this covenant is sexually administered. What if after the wedding, one partner contracts a dreaded STD? God does not have a problem with a runaway bride to even come back. He does not even hold them accountable if an unfaithful wife decides to come back (Jer 3:1; Ezek 23:3-23).
I read someone argue that God will never bless anything that started in sin. That means if you acquired your riches before as a thief and repented God will never bless you because you did not have a good foundation. Isn’t this the same God who permits sunshine on both the evil and the good, sends rain on the just and unjust (Mt 5:45)? The Bible shows it differently with Zacchaeus (Lk 19:2-8) as he was accepted without conditions.
If anyone must start with a good foundation for God to be with them, then God is not supposed to be with none of us, for we were conceived in iniquity (Is 51:5), and all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Rom3:23). God does not look at the past. God asks Hosea to marry Gomer an unfaithful wife and prostitute (Hosea 1:3).
It is this pretense that a human being could bless or curse us  over the blessings or curse of God that some pastors have arrogated themselves the authority to select who marries who in some churches. Those are traditions of men (Mk. 7:8). No mortal can curse he that God has not cursed (Num 23:8), and the children of God have been liberated from the curse of the law (Rom 8:1).
There is nothing like a Christian marriage! There is no such mention in the Bible. There is nothing like marriages must be approved by the church. It is a tradition that was started to control the parishioners by the Catholic Church. The church does not even bless the marriage; God does!  I have discussed lengthily the history thereof in my book Common Mistakes in Theology 2.  The church serves as a witness because in some cases vox popoli vox Dei. Those verses in Genesis 2:22-24 have nothing to do with Christianity as Christianity only began around the 1st Century. God established the marriage institution, and he is the only one who approves it. If the church is the house of God and the only place where marriages are approved, what about the days before churches were built as churches only came during the First Century? Does that mean God did not recognize those marriages?  Does it mean Isaac and Rebecca were never married since their marriage was not in church?
The dictionary defines presumption as the act of overstepping one’s bounds. God will raise a prophet and put what to speak in his mouth. However if that prophet presumes for God then they trespass (Deut 18: 18-20). Presumption sets you out of divine boundaries and exposes you to danger (Num 14:44-45) like Nadab and Abihu (Lev 10:1-2), Uzzah (dead (2 Sam 6:2-7; I chr 13:7-10).
Take for example, you decide to do all the medical tests and found out that your fiancée or fiancé has HIV or some other terminal disease, but you still married her or him. No one knows what God can do, but you should be ready for the outcome. This is quite different from if the womb was removed already and the legs were amputated. I have not known that God has replaced those situations, but I believe that God can do all of that. Permit me cite some presumptuous cases.
If you decide to ride a boat in a sea without a life jacket because you are a child of God. Or as a student you forego reading to going to church because God gives wisdom and knowledge. Presumption will make you perish, but faith will make you live because faith makes you level mountains but presumption make you fall into the valleys. In presumption, we try to help God, but in faith God helps us. Presumption is based on the things we see, but faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen” (Heb 11: 1). Presumptuous people are geared by self-will, but the righteous are guided by God (2 Pet 2:10).
Until then, test should be left on self-volition.

The Secret Lessons in the General Petraeus Affair.

“PA, Is there a secret why do men keep committing adultery?”
General Petraeus’s as a military officer record is impeccable, his work as a CIA director needs no introduction, but his life as a dedicated husband is now in the court of public opinion and will soon be on the floor of the senate. He is accused of cheating with his biographer, up to a point where she threatened a close friend of Petraeus mistaking her for her competitor to “back off from my (her) guy.”  Suffer me say that it is not only men who are committing adultery; women do too. It is recorded that Paula (the woman involved in this love triangle) is also married. Why is the affair only coming out now, why did Jill Kelley blow the whistle, and was there any security breach? This is more or less a Hollywood mime of power, love, sex and betrayal. Petraeus’s resignation eventhough too shrouded to resonate with the excuse of infidelity still has a lot of lessons for the living to remember. His fall will teach us lessons in love and marriage, the digital age, the nature of man and the society we live in.
Petraeus mistake is not that he committed adultery for that is his killing; it is that he married a woman his age. That is the root cause of his fall. From Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, Ruth and Boaz, to Zacharias and Elizabeth and Joseph and Mary, the entire bible is replete with older men marrying younger women because women mature faster. If Petraeus had married Holly at 20 years younger than him, she would have been the same age as the mistress he so crave now.  Even if Jill Kelley was his mistress, she is 37 years old, and Paula Broadwell is 40 years old. Both General and Mrs. Petraeus are 60 years old. If Holly was 20 years younger, she would have been the same age like Paula and three years older than Jill because men live by sight; they are easily influenced by what they see. On the contrary, women live by taste and feeling.  Now look at this picture again with no insult intended to Mrs Petraeus.Who looks like a mother, and who looks like a wife to Petraeus?

When I visited Mexico in 2007, I met 6 women who were divorced, and 4 of them told me that their husbands left them for younger women. If Holly was married to a 70 or 80 year old, he would have been the one worshiping her; afraid that she runs away. On the contrary, most women married to younger men find their men cheating on them with a few exceptions. At 60 her body is not too hot for sex anymore as her male counterpart ,but she wants him around to hold hands, cuddle and tell bedtime stories. For her to get that emotional security, she should marry a man older than her with at least 10 years.
Another, reason for his downfall is that man is naturally sinful. Even if Petraeus married a woman 30 years younger than him and he wanted to fall in sin, he will still do it because human beings will always do the things they do not want to do, but they will not do the good they want to do because they live in a sinful body (Rom 7:18-25). Man has made many inventions, but his nature has always pushed him to do evil with them. One such invention is the internet.
Today we live in a digital age with entrappings that elude even the hackers. It is ludicrous to hear people tell you that they did not read the email you sent them, or to see them forward it to other parties unbeknownst to them that you know what they did with it. They are not aware that back on your desk you know if they have read it or not and to whom they have forwarded it. It is sad that someone will send threatening emails to another person unaware they will be caught. Had General Allen not forwarded mails to Kelley the email Paula sent to him, we would not have been where we are now. Gen Allen should have used his wisdom in dealing with it. This is a disease most Americans have as a dirty secret. No wonder they want to kill Assange and Wikileaks. Forwarding someone's email without informing them is synonymous to perfidy and duplicity.
Wherever you sit and use a computer, you leave netprints to say the least. So, when next you sit on that internet to send a ghost mail, know that if push comes to shove, your identity will be unveiled. The only thing that can serve as antidote is the belief in Christ and living the Christian lifestyle. If Christians live in the spirit, they will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Gal. 5:16) and adultery is the lust of the flesh (Gal.5:19-21 ).You realize that no matter how Petraeus was careful, he still fell pray. he was thew chief spy, but he could not cover his base fully. Do you know how they were able to hide their love affair? I should have told you, but I will keep it a secret, so those who want to cheat on their spouses can end up like Josh Duggard with the Ashley Madison saga.
Another thing why Petraeus fell in sin is because of the dwindling morals. Whoever amongst the two of them who began the relationship while still in the military will be prosecuted. The Bible teaches that bad communication corrupts good manners (I Cor 15:33). Sociology teaches that people may be influenced by their surroundings. Today, people do not want virtues or morality, but they want people to live right. It cannot happen! Morality must be the bed on which mankind sleeps for people to act right. Adultery nowadays is not regarded as a sin, even though it is a crime in the military. It is just extra marital affairs. To an extent, it is even polyamory. If Petraeus and Broadwell both started the relationship while in the military, they will be charged with adultery according to Article 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Nonetheless, they will still have to repent to obtain forgiveness of sin. Until such time when we realize that there is a God who judges sin; thus, abstain from it, we will constantly hear news like this.
The final reason is that Petraeus failed to learn a lesson King Solomon gave us years ago. In plain English it says do not play with fire. He simply said “Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned (Prov 6:25-27)?” If you are married, you should leave other women alone! You should avoid even flirting with them because little by little, the bird builds its nest. By taking Paula with him to Afghanistan to write his biography, he set the stage for adultery and built the altar on which his 37 year old marriage will be sacrificed. Away from both partners, it was good enough to strike the cord of love if they had not yet had it because  if even two people who hate each other so much were locked in the same room, it will not take too long before they fall in love with each other as nearness sometimes brings likeness or amorous interest.  Never play with fire but Petraeus did, so now he is burnt on the oven with the brand name Paula Broadwell.
Nonetheless, I hope that the Petraeus Affair will not only make us point fingers as none is able to cast the first stone, rather it should help us to learn the lessons so that we do not fall prey to the same net that caught Petraeus. Men beware because the same net that caught Clinton, Spitzer, Schwarzenegger, John Edwards has caught Patraeus.  I hope that a little lick here and a little bang there will not be all that sums up his illustrious career.
Until then, I really wish all of them well.

What Is The Difference Between Deliverance and Exorcism?

There is a huge confusion as to whether exorcism is the same as deliverance. We will proceed to find what God says about casting out demons and practicing magic or witchcraft. Conclusively, we will dichotomize between exorcism and casting out demons, or if both acts are really from God or to say the least, honoring God. This lesson will look at their definitions, their operations, the byproducts and the consequences of each act. Due to the misperception, many compare exorcism with deliverance. That would be a wrong comparison because exorcism’s main goal is to deliver the victim from evil spirits. That means, there is actually deliverance when exorcism is practiced. What they actually wanted to ask was if casting out demons is the same as exorcism. Casting out demons’ (like exorcism) main goal to is to deliver from evil spirits. However, both acts differ in their source of power or inspiration and methods.
The definitions establish the contrast in terms of source of deliverance, the methods and the end results. One way to find the meaning of a word is to look at the synonyms or antonyms. The synonym of exorcism is magic. The synonym of magicians is sorcerers (Ex 7:11). Magicians are people who perform miracles or strange things by way of occult. Furthermore, they are always categorized with sorcerers, soothsayers, and astrologers (Dan1:20; 2:2, 27; 4:7, 9; 5:11). Consequently, to exorcise is to make magic or practice sorcery (witchcraft) or to deal with the devil and his agents. People who use amulets and fetishes are practicing exorcism.
Deliverance means to release as of imprisonment or bondage. Therefore, deliverance will be the end result of someone who has been exorcised or from whom demons have been cast out. So, we cannot compare or show any difference between deliverance and exorcism, but we can show a difference between casting-out-demons and exorcism. The main approach to effectuate deliverance is to cast out the demon. The expression “cast out” means “to send out, to drive out, or to thrust out.” The root word conveys strong emotions. On the contrary, to exorcise is to employ a formula of conjuration for expelling demons. Catholics perform exorcism and usually by permission of their bishop. The power is actually bestowed on the priest, but the Bishop is the chief exorcist.  It behooves me to show you a clear example of exorcism in the Apocrypha.
Tobit is guided by Angel Azarias against a fish that wanted to devour him in River Tigris.  The Angel tells him to catch it, open it and take its heart, the liver and the gall for human demonic deliverance by burning those parts or rubbing the victim with the gall. Angel Azarias also counseled Tobit to use the same method of driving evil spirits and chase away the demonic spirit that always killed the 7 husbands who married young woman (Tobit 6: 1-17). This is called exorcism and not casting out demons or godly deliverance. This is when your power comes from earthly things or other powers other than God's. The power of the exorcists comes from another source other than God; meanwhile, the person casting out demons relies on God for the deliverance. Many preachers and priests nowadays use exorcism. You can see it here yourself.
Casting out demons was one of the signs that would follow them that believe (Mk 16:17). Those who are casting out demons use the name of Jesus to do so because it is in the name of Jesus that every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord. This presupposes that everyone attempting to cast out demons must have Jesus as their Lord and savior. That does not mean that the person must go to our church or believe the way we do. Trying to box everyone casting out demons into our soapbox produces confusion as the one in Mark.9:38-39. Therefore, we use the name of Jesus and then command out the demon (Acts 16:18; Act 4:30). There is power in the name of Jesus.  Whichever demon was driven, it was by way of mere command of the mouth in (Mk 9:2)
Casting out demons is a major theme in the New Testament but not exorcism. When deliverance takes place, there is physical initial evidence in restoration of the sick organ or person (Mt 8;16; 30-32; 9:32-33; 10:1; 12:22, 43-45; 15:22-28; 17:15-18; Mk 1;23-26; 3: 22-26; 5;6-20; 6:7; 7:25-30; 9:11-29;16:9, 17; Lk 4:33-35, 41; 8:2-3, 28-36; 9:41-42;11:14, 15-20; 16:16-18; 19:13-16).
Meanwhile, a major characteristic of exorcism (magic) is enchantments-secrecy (Ex 8:7, 18). That is why the Catholic priests and others who exorcise will never show you what they are doing and how they do it. There are pastors and preachers, apostles and prophets who exorcise too by making people stand on some special pulpits or perform acts with great deal of secrecy. The things of God should have no secrecy, none at all!
The exorcist exorcises from evil spirits and the one casting out demons does so to liberate from demons too. The sorcerers (exorcists) will be in hell (Rev 21:8; 22:15). Luke describes a scene in Acts where certain vagabond Jews who were exorcists took upon themselves, neglecting the name of Jesus to cast out demons.  The evil spirits told them that they knew Jesus and knew Paul, but they did not know them. They beat them and tore all their clothes (Acts 19:13-20).  They did that because they thought that casting out demons in the name of Jesus was a mere formula as with their practice. With spiritual things, there is no professionalism because we must only do it in the ability that God has granted us (I pet 4:11).
It should be noted that exorcists eventhough empowered by demons too, may possess special powers that could even enable them to foretell and forthtell (Acts 16:16). More so, since demonic activities are from demons, it is possible with someone with demonic powers like the exorcists to deliver the demoniac. When you compare the usage of handkerchiefs by Paul (Acts 19:12) and the handkerchiefs by exorcists, you will see a difference. While Paul could give his handkerchiefs to people and onlookers, exorcists cling to theirs because their power is in the handkerchief. It is important to note that deliverance does not exempt going to the hospital or seeing a doctor.

Until then, exorcists are ungodly demonic deliverers.

"There is this affirmation that since a star appeared in the sky when Jesus was born that means we all have stars in the sky. Is that true? What happens to them when we die?"

There is no such affirmation in the bible. The word star appears in the Bible 15 times and there is nowhere where it affirms the allegation. Rev 1:20.  The confusion emanates from poor hermeneutics as people seem to translate the word star in Matt 2:2 as mere helium and hydrogen compound that gravitates in the sky.

Baalam had already prophesied that a star will appear (Numbers 24:17). Therefore, when the one indicating the messianic nature of Jesus showed up, the Maggi who were used to reading stars knew exactly that it was an uncommon star. Consequently, they pursued it to where the king was lying in a manger.

The word star there is used both as compound and as a sign of affirmation drawn in the sky. If it was just a mere star, then they would not have differentiated it from other stars. Nevertheless, that one indicating the lordship and messianic being of Jesus carried with it a sign. That is why the Maggi followed it as it guided to for their worship. That is why the Apostle said that one may differ from another star in terms of glory (I Cor 15:41).

Therefore, the reason why this notion of everyone has a star is untenable is because Jesus was not born with the star, and the star did not go everywhere with him after that day. The star was instrumental only to the Maggi who knew how to read starts. The laity who was nescient of astrology did not differentiate it from ordinary stars. Hence, it was a onetime experience which neither repeated itself nor does it repeat itself.
One thing certain is that when man was created, God put in him his spirit. After the fall and Lucifer was cast down to earth, Satan now sends one of his fallen angels to sway human beings away from following God and instead follow them. Subsequently, man has at this time two spirits around him, each fighting for his spirit or soul to give to their master. The spirit of God dwells in man and the spirit of the devil dwells outside of man. The spirit of God comes to know you and master you because it is part of you, but the spirit from the devil being outside can only familiarize itself with you and so we call it familiar spirit. There is no doubt that such a spirit exists when Isaiah says:
And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out   of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust (Isaiah 29: 4).
When you dies, the spirit of God goes back to God and the familiar spirits remain here on earth.
Until then, people do not have their personal stars.
