Have you bought my books yet?

Real Tales Of Real People is a catalogue of stories from the author’s travel dairy that span from one continent to another and different cultures giving an insight into supernatural and natural occurrences that impact our lives. Through the narratives, the reader enters into homes and feels the chagrins of people afar of.

The tales are created to entertain, inform, teach and expand the mind. Readers from other cultures penetrate foreign locale without physically visiting them. These tales will add more impetus to family values and encourage the hopeless to be hopeful. Teachers could use them for their reading classes; families could use them in their family time to buttress the family bond and literacy.

The overall purport is to employ this book as a vehicle of choice to either create a modicum of probity and decorum or and to reinforce etiquettes that seem to elude the present generation.

Until Then, God bless you all.

The zeitgeist today is more Carpe Diem oriented; thus, the world is gearing towards an anti-intellectual and anti-religious trend. Common Mistakes In Theology is a product of many questions that have been asked by university and high school students, church and non church goers during youth ministries, retreats, conventions, and youth camps. This book concentrates on topics that the church usually does not teach its Christians during proselytization. It examines polemics and apologizes on controversies like salvation, polygamy, masturbation, cremation, cohabitation, death, wine, cigarettes and others to enable the Christians and curiosity seekers to understand their freedom in Christ and the limitations thereof.  Those who have adhered to certain traditional doctrines that were orally transmitted to them without having taken the time to see what the bible says will certainly find this book a true eye-opener.

APPEL DE DOUALA Sur Gbagbo

- de la Charte des Nations Unies, qui pose en son article 2.1, 2.2 et 2.4 le respect de la souveraineté et des institutions de chaque Etat Membre ;

- de l’Acte Constitutif de l’Union Africaine, qui pose le respect des institutions souveraines en son article 3 (b) et le refus de la prise de pouvoir par les armes en son article 4 (p) ;

Papa Elephant

He was a prosperous child of a man popularly known as Papa Africa who had 53 children. Africa and all his children were doing well. They lived peacefully with one another and helped each other overcome those natural and man-made disasters. Across the water lived a popular Master thief called Yankee. That was good news to Yankee. His father was a Christian but he had backslidden.

Around 1492, Master Thief sent his grandkids to steal the grand kids of Africa. They took them to their village where they put them in shackles and manacles and forced them to work for free for more than 200 years. They went and hid them in other villages so they will be working for them. After some time, some of Yankee’s grandkids revolted and said they did not more want to steal other human beings especially the children of Papa Africa.

During this time, the cousin of Yankee called Diana who lived in a small Island by herself had become an armed robber too. Rumor has it that thievery was a curse in their family, for they are cursed to steal only other human beings. She gathered her friends Marianne, Leopold, Charles, and Bismarck and they decided to go and live in Papa Africa’s village without his permission so that they will steal things to their own country and then change the village heads there. That was short-lived as the grandkids of Papa Africa drove them out after some time. Almost all have left except Marianne and Charles.

One of Papa Africa’s child- Papa Elephant decided to settle in the West where he shared boundary with a mysterious water called Atlantic and five of his other brothers- Lone Stars, Syli Nationale, Aigles, Etalons and Wagadugu. Their father had a lot of land, cattle and natural resources like gold, oil, bauxite, elephants and diamonds that made Master Thief, Marianne and Diana spend sleepless nights. They colluded to steal those resources.

The boy was getting prosperous, so he decided to join a little brotherhood group called ECOWAS. Little did he know these were turncoats to whom he has sold his soul. They survived by drinking the blood of their brothers. They began by encroaching into his land because he was an orphan.

Yankee was now using his cousin Diana as a lapdog. Diana too has made Yankee’s friend-Marianne her lappuppy. One day Diana entreated Yankee and promised him goodies from the exploit if they will kidnap Papa Elephant’s brother Warriors. Unfortunately, though the man was still young, he had a son in his early age called Bob. He fought them with his might and age until they left him alone.

Meanwhile, Marianne had heard that Papa Elephant had some two rebel sons called Soro and Quattara. So she supplied them with weapons and ammunitions so that they will rob their own father. Unfortunately for them, their father had a faithful son called Gbagbo. Gbagbo fought them until they retreated back to Etalons and Syli Nationale. Etalons had a very bad son who killed his own childhood friend just so he will replace him as head of the village. Everyone knew Compaore to be very mean spirited. When Marianne heard of everything that was happening to the old men in these villages, she decided to solicit the help of the notorious gang called the UN. This gang is known for kidnapping and raping the male children of the old man with a bent back called Papa Africa.

The UN called the Brotherhood –ECOWAS led by Badluck, and they planned a massive thievery through elections. When that did not work, they then decided that they will steal the old man by force. They began saying that they want to kidnap Papa Elephant because his son Gbagbo has stolen the title of family head. Everyone knew that the gang, master thief, and especially Marianne only want all the utensils in Papa Elephant’s house. “Having they stolen enough?” Asked a passerby.

Their neighbor on the east was papa Wagadugu who had a son called Rawlings- a blunt and frank no nonsense man. He governed his father’s house so well until he passed it on to his younger brother. He told the gang, Master thief, his lapdog and her puppy dog to stop that hypocrisy because he saw that the gang and master thief were planning to kidnap Papa Elephant.

The Rumor Mill popular Newspaper said the other day that this time they may be in for a rude awakening because the grandkids of Papa Elephant are waiting for them. His kids are no more small and naïve like they were before.

What would you do in the place of Papa Elephant? What are the other kids of papa Africa doing? Why are they sitting quiet while Yankee, Marianne and Diana are kidnapping and raping their villages? Please leave Papa Elephant alone!

Until then, I wish Papa Elephant well and victory over his enemies.

MISPAH

I had written about this dog before in one of my articles, but as I was traveling, I saw a couple that looked more like strangers to themselves than couples. Then I narrated this story I am telling you now. At the end of the story, the woman sobbed as the man kissed her over and over. There was a couple Mr & Mrs Nenfackkitoyi that inherited a dog from a shelter. Surely the previous owner had given it a name, but when the dog came to their house, they gave it a new name- Mispah. The woman was the one who brought the dog, but the dog forced its love on the husband. At this time, their marriage was on the rocks. The dog indeed was going to live its name.

When each parent came back from work, it greeted them in their turns and saw them off as they left. Many times they left home together, and Mispah walked on the left and later walked on the right trying to show her allegiance and love to both. The parents fell it was their only nexus to reconciliation as their eyes joined each time they tried to look at the dog. Soon they began teaming up to play with the dog, and consequently the glow of their tattered marriage was burning with new steam.

Mispah was permitted to hunt. When she brought game, she kept it on the floor in front of the father. Then she will carry it latter to the mother and then to the father front and back until the father will seize the porcupine from her mouth and give it to the wife to cook.

When they were eating, Mispah ate in her plate but attempted several times to eat from the plate of Mr & Mrs Nenfackkitoyi. When one parent pushed her off, she will go to the next parent. If the father pushed her off, she went to the mother.

One day, they were to go on vacation; they gathered their things and prepared the dog’s house and left her with enough food and drinks. She has grown to serve herself and to hunt for food when she was hungry; however, she was not prepared to deal with the absence of Mr & Mrs Nenfackkitoyi she sacrificially loved.

As they left the house, she walked as usual; changing positions, kissing the mother and kissing the father. Then they each took their different directions. Mispah will run and kiss Mrs Nenfackkitoyi , and then runs back to kiss Mr Nenfackkitoyi. With time, the gap between both parents increased, and Mispah’s trips too increased. She had just kissed the father and was running to kiss the mother when a car came from the side and hit her unto the pavement. With her parents gone, and in a country where dogs are not cared for, she bled with groans of love by the corner of the road for her parents until her sun set. More so, she died in the absence of her beloved who could give her a befitting burial.

No matter how great our love is, we cannot serve two masters at a time. Some people say that it was because of love that she died, but others says it was because of greed because she wanted to love the two parents the same way at the same time. Others conclude that whatever the case, the conclusion is that Mispah died loving her parents.

Will we say that you love your parents if you were to die today? Would anyone say you loved them unto death if you were to die today? How is your love; when there is no money? Is your love only in good times? Do those who love you sleep with you as a sheep sleeps with a lion? In the prefect world, the lion and the sheep will sleep together, but in this present world, though the lion and the sheep may sleep together the sheep would not have much sleep. Mispah is dead, but she left a lesson for us to learn: unconditional and everlasting love until death do you part.

Until then, be ready to die for those you love.

The Train Of Life

I had landed in Vienna and was going to Darmstadt. It was a cold and freezing day. I was not well equipped for the cold that whistled through my ears and penetrated my heart like an invisible dagger. I took a cabin and placed my bag on top of the carriage then took my camera out to look at the greatness of God. How does He make the clouds to blend with the sun? It looks magnanimous and splendid. Who says there is no God I soliloquized. Then I looked at my neighbors some sad and others happy. Some concentrated and others distracted on gadgets. We all had a destination to go. By happenstance, we are in a train that was taking us far and wide. The colors were different, the languages were different and the mannerisms were different too but each entered, each will sit and each will drop when their time comes. Isn’t this how life works I ask myself. Perhaps yes, perhaps not, but certain that we are just on a journey, for I was young yesterday, today I am old and tomorrow I will die. Then my journey on earth will end.

You will always meet people you do not know. They do not need to adapt to you, you have to adapt to them. I had a couple who entered and sat in my carriage. The man put his left hand into his groin under his pant and time and again, he snored and farted in his sleep. When the wife began sleeping, she snored to synchronize their music. When the wife woke up, she looked at me and fell ashamed for her husband. So she will pull his hand off his underwear and then mutter a few words in German that only the two of them knew. The other neighbors watched and quickly removed their eyes. I watched and stared at them as the drama unfolded, snapping the pictures with the camera of my heart. You see, we have different priorities. Mine was watching at the speactacle while others, theirs was intermittenly watching and looking elsewhere. Ah, that is life. If I had to enjoy my trip, i will have to adapt to their farting and snoring after all I fart and snore too. It was just that he was doing it at the wrong time according to me.

If everyone adapted to their nearest neighbor, there will always be peace in homes. Those who do not adapt in the train, keep moving from one carriage to another looking for a better one that they may never find. You will move from one friendship to another, one relationship to another and one marriage to another until you learn how to adapt to other people. Do you know where you are going in this life? What is your objective in life: live 1000/hr?

We are limited to the amount of luggage we carry. Some people think they have come to this earth to live forever. They want to acquire everything on earth in their greed. Listen: you will die and leave all, for you are just a passerby on this earth. You are on a journey my dear!

I saw some people rather than buy a bag that they can pull their luggage, they carry it on their shoulders encumbering themselves. They added to their own problems. When they keep their bags to rest, someone steals them. It reminded me of people who carry their problems on their heads. When you carry your problems on your heads, you will become a bait to evildoers. Why don’t you cast your cares unto Jesus who cares for you? Don’t you hear when He says “come unto me all ye that labor and are heaven laden and I will give you rest”? Even when all your friends and family forsake you, take it to the Lord in prayers, for he will never fail you. Life is truly a journey. Don’t carry your problems on your head, for they make you miserable and vulnerable.

Three hours into the journey, we passed through rough terrain. You hear and feel the bumps on your body, but no one jumps off the train. The road of life will sometimes be rough, but don’t give up. Stay put, for it is just for a moment. It shall be well.

Somewhere I missed my exchange train because I was sleeping. I did not just continue; I stopped and waited 4 hours for the next train. Know when you are on the wrong destination and make a U-Turn. Why are you wasting your time trying to pursue the same wrong train you mistakenly took? Go down, take a rest, and embark on the correct train.

Several times the train stopped because of snow. There was a chain reaction. Many people went to work late and others missed their flights. There are many things in life that will hamper you from having a smooth ride. Your journey may be delayed, but if you stay focused and determined, you will reach your destination.

The sad part was when I met some people with whom we clicked and when their destination came, they dropped off and left me alone as I entered the train. We each entered this world in our own time, and we will leave at different times. When you die, that is the end of the world for you and if you do not, the real end will still come when Jesus comes. One way or the other, you will have the end of the world. However, as you came so shall you leave no matter the friends and relatives you make, and no matter the wealth you have acquired. Life is truly a journey. So when you die, what will be the balance sheet of your time on earth? Will it be a deficit or surplus? How will those who knew you remember you: good or bad person? Would your life have helped or hurt other passengers? Don't forget: you are a passerby on a journey on earth!

Until then, have a safe trip!

Marylyn

She told everyone that she was 29, but her real age was 19. She only told you if you showed compassion and care. She did it with a smile of vengeance. When she introduced her name, she annotated that it is like Marylyn Monroe. She has to tell a lie to those who ask her age just to make the men who approached her justified. Justified not for the right punishment they meted on her but for using her as a toilet tissue. She did not tell anyone what she did for a living, but she wanted to know what you did for a living. Once she knew what you did for a living, then she asked your purpose of talking to her. She had a lot in her stomach to vent out, and no one was going to deny her the golden opportunity. So listen to her chronicle.

Marylyn is from Hungary the same country that Kellie Pickler had never heard of. She was lured into Austria first to work in a restaurant, but it soon turned to something else. There was no work, and she needed money to save her mother and family from some cumbersome debts that had seized joy away from her. How could she look at her mother into the face and eyes while she cries and struggles to make ends meet? She thought to herself that between her legs lie ambrosia that even gods have not been able to bypass the temptation and what more of mere mortal men who lose their souls by just seeing a skirt in the dark.

She smiled and giggled as dimples widen on her jaws. If there is anything as a beautiful woman, she was the epitome thereof. Her face was like a painted or retouched picture of a Victoria secret model, and her body was smooth and silky that it glittered like a golden dining table on which the rich satisfied the desires of their flesh. Every man will like to lick from her table.

Immediately you spoke to her and she trusted you, she told you that she was a prostitute, and she f....s men for money. If you showed any compassion, she discouraged you from having that pity party. “You should not, for I began it two months ago when I realized that men always dumped my mother and left her with a sad heart and no money to pay her bills.” She will justify her act. Due to penury, she dropped out of school and felt that she could make it. She was like a chemical reaction in which lebensfreude had been emptied out and replaced with schadenfreude. She became very happy to see men suffer because her father left her and her mother while she was 8, and every man she has met only wanted to go through her legs. Worst still, they were never reliable! They promised to stay in touch and help, but when they left, you never heard from them again.

She did not believe men make promises because those who ventured into making one or more never kept one or all. She thought that everyman who saw her only had one assignment that Satan had given him: have sex with her. Most of the men who have had sex with her were twice or thrice older than her; they were mostly drunk, and also married too. “I see their married rings and I will say to them ‘you are fu..ing me here and your poor wife is at home’.” She confessed. One of them got mad and slapped her after she said that. Some men come very spiritual, but she entices them by showing her nakedness. “Once I show them what they want, they forget their spiritual vows”. She boasted.

To Marylyn, there is only one thing that goes through the mind of a man when he sees a woman: sex. Do you agree with her? She thinks every man wants to have sex with her, and they do not really care about her as a person. Do men really care? Now she has sex with them for revenge and not for love. Would you do that? She sees sex as a means of retaliating on men for their exploitation and evil ways. Marylyn told everyone that she uses sex to empty their pockets and then leave them miserable. Can women do that? Gentlemen, if you are misusing a lady out there, know that you are hurting even her daughters or neighbors' daughters who are watching. Please, treat women right for they are weaker vessels!

Until then, I wish her well.

Why Did The Early Church Reject the Apocrypha?

Many have asked me why the Apocrypha books are not being used by the protestant churches. The Bible says “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works”. (2 Tim 3:16-17). The Apocrypha and books like Acts of Paul, Gospel of Barnabas, Apocalypse of Peter, Didache, Epistle of Barnabas and the Shepherd of Hermas are all fake and false books. In between the testaments were the Apocryphal books. Their canonicity is rejected because neither Jesus nor the apostles quoted from them to make them authentic and integral. They failed to survive the external evidence test because Josephus (regarded as the epitome of Jewish history) rejected them. More so, they were rejected by the early church. The Protestants also rejected them of having any canonical authority, nor divine inspiration. However, the Roman Catholic Church in the council of Trent, 1546 AD, in order to fight the Protestants movement declared them canonical and included them in the Douay Version (Roman Catholic Bible).

The canonicity of the New Testament did not raise many problems like that of the Old Testament because things had changed during the New Testament era that they were more organized. Five parameters served as the yardstick to the canon of any book. Firstly, the author must be an apostle or walk with one of them. Secondly, the said book must be a lectionary. Thirdly, the universality of the book was considered. Fourthly, the content of the book had to be of such spiritual character and fifthly, it had to give evidence of having been inspired by the Holy Spirit. The following do correlate with these requirements. Hence the following were chosen as canonical – all the 27 books in the New Testament.

There is a funny story in Toby 6:1-8 where Toby is teaching people how to cast out demons. An angel appears and lectures a young man called Azariah that if anyone is demon possessed, you should catch a fish, take the heart, liver and gall and then burn them and let the demoniac inhale the smoke, and he or she will be healed. If you look at the way Toby prescribes to cast out demons, and the way the rest of the Bible does, you will see that Toby is out of place. Toby recommends spiritism and exorcism (practices the Bible is strongly against), but the rest stipulate prayers and fasting (Mk 9:29).

Nowadays, a demon case is sent to the psychiatrists for counseling, rather than the person going to a deliverance session for prayers and fasting. A spiritual problem warrants a spiritual answer. Rather than a Psychiatrist, it needs fasting and prayers to deliver the individual.

Notwithstanding, that does not mean that we cannot read the Apocrypha; it simply means that we do not take them like the word of God. We will read them just like we read Harry Porter or Othello, Macbeth, Pride and Prejudice, The Caretaker, The Crucible or Young Goodman Brown. In short, just the same way we read every other book. It is not certain that every book we read, we read it as if it was the word of God. However, when we read Dr Faustus, Erotica: An Illustrated Anthology of Sexual Art and Literature (Ill), Encyclopedia Britannica, we see very odd things there, but we do not take them as the word of God. So I will encourage Christians to read and quote from it like every other book.

Until then, the Apocrypha are not the word of God but could still be read.

"Are Children Exempted From Baptism; If So, When Are They Ready For Baptism?"

Baptism comes from a Greek word baptizo meaning to immerse or submerse from afflictions and calamities that overburden an individual. This correlates with Romans 6:3-4, Col 2:12; I Cor 12:13; Gal 3:27. The mode has always been a subject of arguments too, but that should not pose problems if we look at the examples of Jesus, John the Baptist and the Eunuch. There is not a single place in the Bible where we see that people are baptized by being sprinkled water upon their heads. That act in itself is called aspersion. The Bible does not mention aspersion; it mentions baptism.

However, what if the individual got believed in the desert and even the oasis could not furnish a brook or pool water. That is where we talk of baptism in a drum or swimming pool.

Another area of contention has been in whose name. Jesus said in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The disciples baptized in the name of Jesus. Whether you baptize in the Godhead or the only name through which we are saved, it is still accurate.

The Council of Carthage, in 253, reconsidered the notion of infants not being baptized. If you are a student of church history, you will quickly know why. From 100 A.D-300 A.D there were local and intense persecutions that even led to the death of the apostles and some church fathers like Ignatius(sentenced to wild beasts), and Polycarp (was burnt at the stake for refusing to worship Caesar) . Those persecutions of burning Christians to the stake, being fed to the lions, being beheaded, being torched, and even being crucified caused a major exodus and scattering which is affirmed in Acts 8:4. The absence of many adults in church and the church in die need to preserve its pool of membership began questioning the raison d’être of not baptizing infants in the Council of Carthage in 253. That means initially, even the Catholic Church did not baptize infants. The question now is: should we baptize infants?

In clear terms, baptism is a symbolic act. Thus, it is important to note that whether a child is baptized or not, baptism does not add or subtract to their salvation because baptism is a like figure. It is a physical act that shows what happens to the spiritual man. Peter goes further to amplify that, baptism should not be simply used as a washing session, but a time we truly put forth a good conscience. In others words, after you get baptized, people should be able to see that you have truly changed your character from bad to good.

If we follow the sequential order of these verses Mt 28:19; Mk 16:16, Acts 2:38, 41; 8:12; 9:8; 18:8; 19:5, we see that the first process is believing and then followed by baptism. The question now is at what stage in life can we consider a child conscious up to a point where they can believe in Jesus? If we follow the fact that when Lydia (Acts 16:15), and The Jailer (Acts 16:33) believed in Christ, they were baptized with their entire families, then we will have to reconcile both passages.

There is a stronger evidence on the sequential order of believe and be baptized than being baptized with your entire household. Looking at the culture in those days, one would easily understand why. If the leader of the household believed, everyone under them followed. This is backed up in those who were baptized in the household of Lydia (Acts 16:15), The jailer (Acts 16:33), and Crispus (Acts 18:8).

Therefore, if a man believes and comes with his household to be baptized, the church should baptize them presumably that they have believed since we cannot determine the hearts of men (Jer 17:9-10; Prov 14:10, I Cor 2:11; Eccl 9:1). But bringing an infant in isolation for baptism is not defended anywhere in the bible. Consequently, infants should be allowed to mature until a time when they can believe for their sins to be forgiven and then be given baptism as a proof of their repentance.

Until then, God bless you.

"Should An Impotent Man Get Married?"

When I first read the question, I laughed. I asked myself what is he doing thinking about marriage? It seems a very simple question to just say no, but it is not as it will soon be displayed. A synonym for an impotent man is a eunuch. In Biblical times, the eunuchs played a large role during wars and serving the kings because there was absolute faithfulness and concentration. The king will never fear that he would be cuckolded. When they went to war, they fought without fear of losing their lives because they did not have anyone to look back to when they returned. There were three types of eunuchs: natural eunuchs, manmade eunuchs, and devotional eunuchs (Mt 19:12). These eunuchs are impotent.

Impotence is a medical condition where a man is unable to have and maintain erection. Marriage is a bond in blood that is sexually administered. Marriage has three functions in sequential order: a help-meet or companion (Gen 2:20), multiplication (Gen1: 28) and means to avoid fornication (I Cor 7:1-2). That means, when a man is getting married, he is ready to fulfill the above duties. How will he multiply if he is impotent? Considering that there is cunninlingus and fellatio, he could still commit fornication. Thus he is eliminated from two but could still fulfill one: erase his solitude if he gets married. This paper is to show you why the author believes that the impotent man should get married, if he wants.

This situation may raise more alarm in Africa than in the West because of the fact that oral sex has not been integrated (which it should) into their sexual lives as an integral part of sex. Yes, you heard me well; it should be integrated fully without reservation. I know that if some of you were birds you will want to shit on my head right now. If you do it, I will understand that you had to go real bad!

In between 1997 and 1998, a brother in Christ got married. He was impotent, but he had faith that God will heal him. He knew if he revealed it to the church leaders, they will not allow him to wed; consequently, he kept it a secret. Immediately after the wedding, he told his wife that he was impotent. The wife told her best friend as a prayer topic, but she leaked it to the leaders. There was an unheralded great commotion. People treated him with all sorts of adjectives and told him how wicked he was especially because the mission taught that once married, you are married for life, and there was no chance for divorce. The brother was calm and collected. He told us to simply pray. As one of the leaders, I visited them regularly to pray with them. One day, he told me that his kasingo was no more just sleeping peacefully; it is now like the opposite of mimosa; when you touch it, rather than sleep, it wakes up with such vigor and purpose. They had their first child and during the wife’s delivery of their second baby, she died.

Had he been prevented from marrying, we would not have experienced that miracle you just read now. Furthermore, the impotent man could find a lady who cannot have children and does not want to adopt and fulfill his responsibilities using toys and cunninlingus.

However, if you are suffering from impotence, you should not feel ashamed; you should be upfront about your condition. You should seek treatment and persevere in prayers, peradventure God works out a miracle. If you have partial impotence, that again is due to several factors like psychological, artherossclerosis, disease, damage to the penis nerves, diabetes, medications, and illegal drugs. Nowadays, there are many types of treatments and even nuts that when you eat, the man in-between your legs catches fire and wants to score as many goals or touchdowns as you want. Therefore, impotence is not that a hopeless situation.

Nevertheless, those men who are not exercising now in their 30s and 40s will definitely have problems in their 60s, so if you want to perform even while 70 and 80, you must be exercising to enable sufficient blood flow from your arteries into the penis. Now that I have given you a line of hope,  you can make a donation into the ministry. Thanks!

Until then, let the impotent man get married if he wants to.

Is there love without interest; especially in marriage?

To answer this question, I will first show two different concepts that should guide our choice and our lifestyle and then reconcile both. How do you love your spouse like yourself, yet you are looking for an help-meet? Why look for only someone who will meet your help rather than just anyone since you must love without seeking your own? For example, Paul says that “..charity..seeketh not her own” (I Cor 15:5) and Jesus says “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” (Mt 22:39) which is the basis of our love. In Genesis, we read “I will make him an help meet for him” (Gen 2:18) which is the rudiment of our marriage. Thence, the installation of the institution of marriage in Genesis 2:18, we read “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him”. So, we have two principles: love the other person as yourself, and that your spouse is a help meet. This is getting better. This is good stuff right here. Amen? So our next task is to reconcile both principles and exemplify with practical examples.

Let me put it this way, love your neighbor, the same way you love yourself. That does not exempt you loving yourself. It simply says do not love yourself more than you love other people, but it does not say love other people more than you love yourself. If a husband does not love himself, he cannot love his wife, and if a wife does not love herself, she cannot love her husband. Amen? In looking at this verse, we call the amplification of the Golden Rule, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets” (Mt 7:12).

When you are looking for a spouse, look for one that will compliment you in seeking first the kingdom of God because it is only when you acquire the kingdom of God and its righteousness that all will be added unto you. Let us say that your faith is not strong; you should marry someone who will draw you closer to God, if your gold is to seek God. That tells you there is no human action without interest, but we must look at the interest.

We believe in God to go to heaven, and God gave his son to save mankind. What is he gaining? He is gaining mankind. However, the problem is when you go after worldly things: the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. The world does not have joy. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all other things shall be added unto it.

If you marry a man because he is very handsome or a woman because she is very beautiful, one day that beauty may fade away naturally or unnaturally in an accident or sickness. If you marry a woman for her wealth, that is an interest, albeit a wrong one because money and beauty do not answer the quest of salvation; a broken heart and a wailing soul through Jesus Christ do.Although she may be a help-meet, but that is not the first objective. Your first objective was her money.

Furthermore, let us say that you are illegal. You could marry for love and for papers too. That is because God does not prohibit us from having the desires of our hearts. Psalm 37:4 says “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” So if you are looking for a man, you look at the godly one first, then the one who has papers (help-meet). The idea of help meet is very important because until after God has given Adam charge over the garden, he did not think he needed help. Eve comes in to compliment Adam as Adam also compliments her. We have our heavenly responsibility first and then our earthly one. If you put the earthly happiness first, then you will be going into selfish reasons because the earthly pleasure does not help you to acquire heaven pleasure, but heavenly accomplishment will help you acquire earthly joy.

That is the more reason why those who married men who had not believed in the hope of making them believe, never succeeded and instead failed to catch both the lover and salvation. Love without interest does nto exist, but selfish interest never brings in joy.

Until then, I hope I have answered your question.

Manyu Children Say Sesekou and President Paul Biya Must Go!

I see the young kids crying in their mothers’ wombs because their future has been mortgaged for political positions. Manyu elites are glad that Mamfe is tarred. Like Sisyphus, they toil and never come to the end of their travails. Mamfe is like an enclave , but their elites are setting a budget of 75 millions to reelect President Paul Biya into power. Many will not understand why the Manyu elites behave that way. The elites of Africa rely on the government for survival and for appointments to have a post. The president dangles those positions like an African goat rearer dangles cassava robbed with salt to its goats. Once they taste those appointments, they become addicted. Now they seem like they are demoniacs whose antidote is ministerial or governor position. Through these appointments, some people have been helped they say. Their altruism becomes deficient, and like a virus, the dangled appointments of the government ravage their collective volition to fight for the common man. This time the youths must say Biya must go!

Manyu elites, I challenge you, rather than raise money for the reelection of the president, you should raise money to build a proper health center, equip every secondary and primary school in Manyu division with computers, benches, libraries and raise up little inventors, business gurus and scientists. Make primary education free to every Manyu child.

It is more than shameful for learned people to act like lapdogs just for ministerial positions. Manyu elites, don’t you have any shame my brothers and sisters? Mamfe is tarred, but there is no road in and out of Mamfe. Every election year the government drives some caterpillars to grade roads, but after the elections, the caterpillars return to their base. Do you remember since when the African Development Bank approved that Mamfe-Ekok road? The government has refused to tar it. Consider all of that and say Biya must God!

You all voted for the same president for 24 years, and you want to give him again 7 more years. Don’t our people say if a young man did not hunt for a mole when he had strength, it is not when he is walking with a stick that he will hunt an elephant? Do you believe at this senile age president Biya has quickly gotten a magic wand? No, he has none; he must go.

Manyu people don’t you all have any shame? Yes, S-H A-M-E! I understand it all began in the Northwest as they prayed and pledged their lives for president Biya to be the eternal king, but it is not a copycat worth emulating. Please raise that money and equip every school in that division with a modern health center and try to carve out a path to link Akwaya with the rest of the world. I feel sorry for the Akwaya people. If Bachuo, Ntenako, Besongabang are celebrating the president because they at least see electricity, what are you too celebrating him for; for leaving you in the neolithic age ? Some of your children will grow and die without ever seeing a car; talk less of touching it. Are you still happy about voting for him again? Please join me to say Biya must Go!

I say wake up young people of Manyu. You are sacrificing your future by following these elites. Don’t follow them. They are fighting for their interests and that of their families and kids. See, they have sent almost all their relatives abroad, given all of them jobs, and built mansions. They eat money like rats eat peanuts. Most of you fast and pray for your next meal. Your shoes have windows as if the big toe is tired of being locked up and wanted some fresh air. Some of you, your shorts have two eyes as if you buttocks want to peep a little bit into the outside world. You legs have hit so many stones that they are now webbed like the duck’s feet. Consider all your trouble and say Biya must go.

Oh young university students arise and reject the advances of the elites. Isn’t it George Orwell’s Animal Farm still in Mamfe now where all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others? Look, the SDO, DO, gendarmerie chief, the procureurs and other dignitaries have water, but you all drink from the well. Why is water still running for a selected few? Just not to make you depressed, I will leave you with this video.

Until then, long live the Manyu children!

Please send this mail to every Manyu person you know.

Blueprint for Cameroon Liberation Movement (CAMLIMO).

I do not regret my passage in CPDM, for I have made my life never to look back with regrets. Those who flashback at history with regrets embitter their souls and rob themselves of shrewdness to carve a joyful future which is their due destiny. Such evocations have converted many into boiling cauldrons who explode at the innocent’s expense. Nevertheless, I owe God and mankind the responsibility to dissociate from evil and evildoers.

Gainsayers may finger point that I had once resigned from the CPDM and went back, so I cannot be trusted. Indeed I understand their fears but at the same time dismiss them because I believe in giving second chances. I gave the party a second chance unlike most of their parents who have given 24 years, but it failed to deliver. Certainly there will be namby-pambies who will insist on my first resignation. Their barks are better than their bites, and no one frets on a dog that barks but cannot bite because “he that is without sin should cast the first stone”. Notwithstanding, now is not the time to cast stones, it is the time to gather the stones for nation building.

Hitherto many have wished, and thenceforth many will wish I was involved in a scandal. To those, I encourage waiting longer, for though I do not enunciate perfection; nonetheless, I have always lived my life as an open book where cronies and strangers, friends and fiends alike may read the strange and familiar matters of life. Certainly one day I will fall; after all, “A just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief” (Prov 24:16). But what does it profit the wicked that the just falls though?

As I listen to depressive stories about Cameroon from friends, family and strangers on how Cameroon is now a quagmire that breathes doldrums, my entrails bubble. Immediately, I know that the cause of changing lives spiritually and physically must be knitted together. I am forced to reecho the discourse I made a few months back in my initial attempt to leave the party.

President Biya should not run for a third term. Lapiro be Mbanga and Bibi Ngota should not have gone through the fates they suffered. The failure to integrate the Diaspora has retarded the growth of our economy. The sacking of Thomas Fozein portrayed the government was not reviewing her polices. The violation of the rights of political activists and political opponents, kangaroo trials like that of Forjindam and Lapiro, suppression of freedom of speech, and inhumane and the dehumanizing treatment of citizens as evinced in the recent report of Amnesty International and blogs of foreign visitors all sum up to a failed state. The spirit of brutality, suppression, repression, and the overt and covert manifestation of corruption and tribalism permeated by the government in the settlers’ policy go against the tenets of Christ my Master. The egotic agenda of most CPDM militants does not run concomitantly with “love your neighbor as yourself” nor does it embrace the philosophy of the Golden Rule to do unto others what you want them do unto you.

I concur no human action is altruistic but supporting a regime that kills its opponents, imprisons dissenters; a regime that has sold hopelessness to the young people and bought them despair, a regime that has encouraged capital flights and built a fortress for swindlers will give me nightmares than somnolent days. If most Cameroonians were given the opportunity to escape, statistics confirm that two thirds will leave. Never in the history of Cameroon have citizens become that desperate to leave the country than they are today. Cameroon with all her natural resources should not be threatened with such exodus especially with brain drain. Perhaps it behooves I introduce a blueprint of the organization I will want you all to give me your support. It is called Cameroon Liberation Movement (CAMLIMO).

Healthcare.
Cameroon should look into the health policy we do have now. Patients should pay small deductibles with no copays and no one should be refused treatment because they do not have money for consultation. Small and large companies must be legally obliged to insure their workers.

Education.
We must believe that everyone can bring something and no one should be left behind.

Additional teacher or co-teaching support for bubble kids (struggling kids). There should not be any sheltered education because it stigmatizes kids and curtails peer learning where less smart kids could learn from smarter kids. There should be pilot projects for gifted education and amplification of special needs kids. Primary school and secondary education should be combined to prevent loss of time and hassles of admission and movement. Parental involvement will be obligatory and punishable in case of negligence. There is urgency to restore the value of teachers and staff and to develop and exploit our bilingualism.

Economy
The first thing we must do is to eradicate Corruption which discourages foreign investors and despoils existing resources. There should be accountability of financial institutions and the desire to develop and improve our infrastructures. Our country should imitate the likes of Rwanda in technology readiness and innovation by giving impetus to Math and science in our curriculum. Cameroon is endowed with natural resources but plundered by a simple minority who slept on the wrong side of their beds and are going astray. Thus the simple majority who slept o the right side of their beds should bring them back by efficiently managing the factors of production. We must boost and upgrade our tourism industry which is deflated by crime on tourists. The government has failed and is unwilling to encourage Diaspora investment initiatives with exorbitant taxes and custom dues on goods from their very Diaspora who attempt to invest. Cameron must set an agenda to reduce the national debts and envisage a surplus.

Politics.
We have passed the age of inquisition where people were persecuted for their beliefs and opinions. There should be a fully developed freedom of press and media, freedom of religion and freedom of political affiliations.

Foreign Policy.
Cameroon must strive to reestablish credibility and respect amongst nations, and monitor the infiltration of foreign vultures (countries and people whose aim is to ransack the wealth of the country). Develop better relationships with our neighbors and to be more involved in global issues.

Government
Appointments and government workers should be based on meritocracy rather than nepotism and tribalism. We must abolish nepotism and “settler policy” of indigenes appointment. The government should reduce the number of ministers, and control time usage amongst civil servants. For example, I see many teachers and other civil servants coming and staying in America for 2 months and above when it is not under their leave period. The lack of accountability in government has bedeviled our efficiency to provide for our people.

Sports
Cameroon despite all the money collected for participating in world cups has not been able to renovate its stadiums. The lone good stadium stands at times as an eyesore. We must construct new stadiums and reintroduce the policy of recruiting local players into the national team. Furthermore, developing the first, second and third division football. Cameroon has talents in many fields. Other sports should be given the support the need for it is due to soccer that the world has come to know Cameroon.

Permit me to dichotomize two types of Cameroonians and people: the cowards who sit behind and utter inanities, and the heroes who join the fight to make a difference. Cameroonians must decide to either remain cowards or heroes. Cowards dream on idealism while heroes implement visions of realism. Behold a clarion call beckoning all and sundry. In the fight against oppression there are no bystanders and there is no neutrality; either you are a hero standing with the oppressed, or a coward standing with the oppressor.

Until then, I encourage all Cameroonians to wake up.

Resignation from the CPDM

I want to thank the Section president: Joseph Mbu who has done everything to put CPDM on the map of USA and Canada. I want to thank my subsection president Sango Ngalame, my branch president-Namaya Sr. and the other officers with whom we have labored together.

I have thought that by serving in the CPDM, I could bring a change. Indeed, I tried, but I didn’t and could not. I have come to realize that if I remain in the CPDM, I will not accomplish what I was called to do. The agenda of the party these days does not suit the ethos of my calling. I have patiently waited to see those party policies that could help to implement the educational policies and other innovations that Cameroon so badly needs, but I have not seen even a fly. It would seem the party is used for individual aspirations.

Therefore, I have decided to resign from my position in the CPDM with immediate effect. In a few days to come, I will inform Cameroonians the next step to take, so that together we will build Cameroon.

Until then, I wish them well.

Can A ‘Good’ Muslim Be A Good American?

National Public Radio fired Juan Williams for saying that he gets nervous when he sees a Muslim in the plane. Though one may understand the reaction of the network because it amounted to bias, prejudice and islamophobia, but one can easily understand too why Americans could suffer from Islamophobia. First is 9/11, and second, Muslims are involved in almost everywhere in this globe where there is an armed conflict with America. Nonetheless, what if a white woman said “each time I see a black man in the elevator with me I get nervous?” Notwithstanding, perhaps it is sheer hypocrisy, or perhaps it is the attempt to placate Muslims, but one thing is sure; many Americans say Amen to his inner fears. While it may lack any rationale since Timothy McVeigh and Eric Rudolf were not Muslims, it is still paradoxical since most of the hijackings in planes and attempts to harm America have been done by Muslims. Juan Williams’ words have provoked a debate about the loyalty of Muslims as good citizens of America. Many ask if a good Muslim could be a good American. Perhaps we should flip the question this way: “Can a good Christian be a good American”? The ab ignitio condition of citizenship is not based on religion. Is being an American based on Religion? Is America a secular or a religious state? Is religion a prerequisite to citizenship? That is the purport of this article.

Although Muslims and other false religious worshipers are lost, it would be ludicrous to ask if a good Catholic can be a good American. Although their doctrinal positions are against Christianity, but America is not a Christian nation to the best of recollections. It is this same idea of making a religion a state religion that diluted the importance of true worship during the days of Constantine. America has a Christian background and a form of godliness but denies the power thereof. It is almost as if America and Christianity are diametrical opposites. I believe there are Muslims in the US that will die for America. So are they good Muslims? Yeah! Are they good Americans? Sure!

Some Americans say: “Scripturally, no, because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).” This makes America look like a Christian Nation: thus another religious state or a state with a religious constitution. Others say “Geographically, no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.” Does praying and facing a certain direction determine allegiance to a country or does it even quantify as a sign of good citizenry. What are the elements of a good citizen? Do we become good citizens now just by looking to the west? Ok, one will tell all undocumented immigrants to start praying facing west. Hahahaha.

It is not everyone who professes to be a Christian who is one. More so, founding a country on the word does not make it a religious state. Does it? It must state in its constitution that we are a religious state, and the US does not do so.

A good Christian may not necessarily be a good American just like a bad Christian could be a good American because the country may be doing things that are contrary to biblical tenets and the Christian rejects the laws promoting such actions. A true Muslim could be a good American just like a bad Buddhist could be a good American. Citizenry is not a new religion. It makes one laugh: almost laugh out their lungs when people think America is the place where good Christians go. Don’t forget that there are many good Christians all over the world that will never set foot on the American soil. So these Christians are lost and plundering their time that they are worshipping God. If not it is preposterous to believe that a true Christian is a good American.

Nonetheless, NPR was wrong to fire the journalist. It means that there is less tolerance for personal views despite him having founded fears.  In addition, the Muslims must do more than just complain by actually showing that they are peaceful because Islam encourages violence. However, let us all avert stereotypes and faulty inferences for we need each other.

Until then, be not a bigot but be a born-again.

When Disaster Becomes a Classroom

71 days ago when 33 miners were trapped underground in Chile, many concluded their outcome would be like those in Upper Big Branch Mine Disaster of April 5, 2010 in West Virginia or the Pasta de Conchos mine disaster of 2006 where only 2 of the 65 bodies have been recovered . Thanks be to God; rather than a disaster, from the entrapments to the rescue, we have all become students in nature’s classroom. There are five lessons we should learn and teach our progeny. Many heads are better than one, when the heart is willing it will find a thousand ways, in leadership, examples are better than precepts, a woman could still act classy even if her husband is a philanderer, and that faith is an additional ingredient to salvation. Therefore, learn these lessons for therein lies your salvation in this world where humanity is ensnared.

An African proverb says that “one hand does not tie a bundle”. In the forest region people always say that “one stick does not build a forest”. In western culture people say “many heads are better than one”. If you look at the other disasters I mentioned, they wanted to go alone. In Chile, they called for help worldwide . BHP Billiton and Collahuasi company supplied drilling and expertise. American GeoTech Drilling experts who knew how to drill were ushered in from Afghanistan. The cable that lowered the crane came from Germany, and the camera sending pictures came from Japan. NASA helped construct the Phoenix that served as the lift to bring the people from the underground. Maptek was used to map the underground tunnels and orientate the rescue shafts. Oakley donated 35 pairs of sunglasses to protect he miners’ eyes from ultraviolet light. It confirmed the bible’s “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety” (Prov 11:14; 15:22). Everywhere you are, learn to work as a team. We are all entrapped here on earth. If you read the poem The Cold Within you will see that lack of cooperation killed those who were by happenstance imprisoned in the cold.

A Chinese proverb says that “when the heart is willing, it will find a thousand ways, but when it is unwilling, it will still find a thousand ways.” In this case, the heart was willing to save the people. The rescue efforts had three drilling operations at once. It took rescuers two weeks to find the survivors but during the Pasta de Conchos mine disaster, the rescue efforts we called off after just five days. The miners in Chile were a quarter a mile deeper than their Mexican counterparts. Raul Vera, an outspoken Roman Catholic Bishop reiterated that "In Chile the government and the companies joined together to rescue the miners alive," "In Mexico they joined together to bury them forever ." That is because the government was unwilling to spend close to 20 millions to rescue the people.

The third lesson we learn is really from the president and his ministers. President Sebastien Pinera insisted on the rescue and spent close to 48 hours to watch every single miner brought to safety unfolding his resolve to have them live. The president summoned Andre Sougarret chief engineer and put him in charge of digging the men out. He selected the person whom he knew could do the job better and not because he was his friend, member of his party or relative. Sougarret was honest to the miners and their families while still giving them hope.  In Africa, presidents have never gone to disaster areas to motivate the people. That was great leadership skill. Leadership is not about prescribing direction but leading the way. As the miners walked out of the Phoenix, he greeted and embraced, joked and laughed with each of them. There are leaders who do not joke and exchange pleasantries with their subalterns and subordinates. Just because someone is working under you does not make them a subclass or subhuman. Learn to make those who work under you feel you need them and want their good.

In the fourth lesson we learnt that a woman could still know that her husband is a philanderer and still act classy. If it was in America that those 5 of the 33 miners were revealed to have had mistresses, it would have been “Jerry, Jerry, Jerry” of Jerry Springer live. Miner #21; Yonni Barrios- a 50 year old man had invited his mistress including his wife of 22 years to come and welcome him . The wife refused to come if the mistress was going to be there, but she stayed classy all through the incident. During the trammel, one miner was even discovered to have had about 4 mistresses. Cheating is not good but how you react too is very crucial to yourself and the society. Many victims of cheating always want to use a grenade to kill a cockroach. Rather than teach a man by shooting him on the head, please shoot his toes.

The fifth lesson is that your faith in God will take you a long way unto salvation. Faith is a prerequisite of salvation. The Virginia mining disaster this year took place on the 5th of April and the one in Chile was on the 5th of August. The 5th day is the day God made man and gave him authority over the earth but after the fall, humanity is entrapped. It is a reminder that though we are ensnared, we still have the power to overcome. Luiz Urzua used his faith in God to instill hope in the miners else they should have been killing each other in other to preserve food and survive longer. “According to the Catholic Herald, ‘The 33 miners trapped in the San Jose mine in Atacama, Chile, have requested that statues and religious pictures be sent down to them as they wait to be rescued’ .” “‘Sepulveda, the second miner to be freed, said, “I have been with God and I’ve been with the devil.... I seized the hand of God. I always knew God would get us out of there’.” They all walked to the surface with their faces shining of joy and even those who had chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes and hypertension did not come worse than they went. God heard their prayers and stayed with them till they joined their families and nation.

Until then, we thank God for saving our brothers.

Wife Beater Beware!

Some men have ruined their careers by beating their wives. Although wife beating plagues the entire world, it is very rampant in northern Nigeria and other Islamic dominated areas chiefly because Islam favors the beating of women in the Qu’ran. Perhaps there should be a balancing act here that there are husband beaters too. To those men I could advise them to form the Battered Husband Club. Some men who beat their wives have argued that it is because the wife is unruly. Others have supported themselves in their different religions. The Christian men who beat their wives find their solace in the Old Testament position of the Bible whereby the woman is projected as inferior to the man. Most men who beat their wives are influenced by religion. Do  the Qu’ran and Bible really justify wife-beating?

The Qu’ran is known to despise women. It asks a woman to marry another man before she comes back to the former husband (Sura al Baqara 2:230). The Qu’ran urges men to beat their wives (Sura al Nisa4:34). The Qu’ran encourages polygyny but not polyandry (Sura al Nisa 4:3). The Qu’ran states that divorce is a man’s job (Sura al Baqara 2:230,236). Islam sanctions concubinage (Sura al Nisa 4:3). Men are preferred to women (Sura al Nisa 4:34). Islam encourages Islamic men to marry Christian women (Sura al Ma‘ida 5:5). A woman’s testimony is worth half a man’s (Sura al Baqara 2:282). A woman’s inheritance is worth half a man’s (Sura Al Nisa 4:11). Islam keeps women under a veil (Sura al- Nur 24:31). Islam constrains slave girls to prostitution (Sura al- Nur 24:33). You know what religion can do.  Muham, med did not attempt to raise the status of women until he passed away. Therefore, wife-beating is cultural in the Islamic adherents.

When the Bible lines up the properties of a man, it includes their wives (Deut 17:15 -17; I Kings 20:5). It also states that Sarah called her husband Lord (I Pet 3:6). The root word is etymologically that of a servant to a master. In this passage, the Bible shows the woman as the property of man and not only the injunction placed on polygamy. Those passages in Deuteronomy and I Kings are not a restriction on plurality else it would then mean that the king was not supposed to have more than one horse, silver or gold. It would then mean that we today are not supposed to have more than one house, car, TV or computers.

However, looking into the position of the New Testament, Jesus raises the status of women and puts them as partners mutually submitting to one another with the man still the head of the household. He accepted to be borne by a woman, had women like Mary Magdala in his ministry (Lk 8:2), taught that women too grow in grace as men in Mary and Martha; sisters of Lazarus (Lk 10:41 -42) and called the crippled woman "daughter of Abraham" (Lk 13:10 -13). The Apostle Paul, accentuates that in Christ we are one (Gal 3:26 -28). As such, the Christian men who treat their wives as property are lacking in biblical exposition.

Consequently, wive and husband beating should not be considered as prescribed by the Bible but as a lack of character thereof because violence is the weapon of the weak communicator. A brilliant young man came from Cameroon to experience the American Dream, but his was cut short because of impulsive behavior. He later graduated from Harvard but could not find a job because he was convicted of aggravated assault and battery that were engraved in his record. As employers combed them, they rejected him not for his incompetence but lack of probity and decorum thereof. He lingered around for some time; albeit, to pack his things to go home and try the forsaken Cameroonian Dream one more time.

Notwithstanding, the woman can solve it in different ways. The first is to seek counseling. The second is to invite the law by calling the police. The third is to call the Battered Women or Husband helpline which is generally known as the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1800-799-7233) . The fourth is to take it to the Lord in prayers.

Therefore, wives and husbands beating is bad before God and before man, for it is violence. Peace is a recurrent sub-theme in the Bible and a prerequisite to see God (Heb 12:14). The Bible encourages us to love our wives as Christ loved the church that he gave his life (Eph 5:25). Yet as you know, with the advent of home breaking philosophy of feminism, the insecurity of some men and women, and the persistent male chauvinism in our modern society, there will always be wife and husband beating. For a man to save himself from it, he must live according to the precepts of the entire Bible whereby communication and prayers are the rudiments of a prosperous relationship and would resolve the problems that beating pretends to do (I pet 3:7). Note that the Bible only says in this passage that the woman is a weaker vessel, but it does not say she is an inferior being. Hence, those who are married should treat their wives just as Christ treats the church with sacrificial love and care.

Until then, love your wife and not beat her!

Knocked Down But Not Knocked Out!

In September 24, 2005, Samuel Peter of Nigeria was fighting the Ukrainian- Wladimir Klitschko for a 12 round elimination match. After 4 dull rounds, Peter knocked down Klitschko twice in the 5th round. Peter gave the crowd the momentum and created belief for himself. The crowd chanted,  "Peter", "Peter," "Peter" and waited eagerly for the greatest upset that did not come. To add more impetus, Peter knocked Klitschko down again in the 10th round. He stalked and chased him across the ring looking for the killer punch that will finish his opponent. To many, it was just a matter of time before Peter knocks out Klitschko . However, to the chagrin of spectators and the frustration of Peter, Klitschko picked himself up, slugged and outpointed Peter (who began gasping for air) to a unanimous decision. Just because you are knocked down doesn’t mean you are knocked out! You could have been knocked down several times, but it does not mean that you are out.

Only death brings the end of hope. As long as we are alive, let us have hope that God does not fail and will not fail. He may not walk with the pace of a man because he is never in a hurry, but He is never late. Keep trusting Jesus he will never fail you. Life always serves us with a plate we did not order; however, let us not worry, we should only know the Cook is our very own Father Jesus whose meal will bless our hearts.

Fear sometimes cripples us, but let faith move us to higher bounds. Look around you, that is not how you began. You are not what you want to be but thank God, you are not what you used to be. Just as every tunnel has a beginning, there is an end t every tunnel too. Our dark days may be long and dreary but stay focus, your ray of light just proves you are winning. You will make it.

There are many in heaven looking down and hoping you make it too. Would you fail them? You owe them the responsibility of making it and seeing Father Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Gideon, Deborah, Esther, Daniel, John the Baptist, Paul, Apollos and finally Jesus.

My Brethren, the days keep getting darker and darker, and evil seems enveloping us all. Those who strive to live righteous lives are undergoing some of their greatest hardships now. You may be cast down but don’t be downcast. If you do not want vultures to eat you, then don’t die in an open field! Tell them that though you are knocked down, you are not knocked out. Show them that you are still in the ring, for it is not who wins but who can put up a fight till the Master comes. Do not care how fast the others are running; you should just stay focus on your lane. When you stumble, lift yourself up and keep running, knowing that this race is not looking for the swiftest, but those who can simply finish the race.

I have made up my mind to leave the world behind me, take up my full armor and face the tides of life that try to beat me round. At times, I crawl with tears in my eyes, other times, I run with joy in my heart. I may not be walking or running, but Satan knows that in so far as I am not standing, I am on the move. Sometimes during your down moments, even your phone calls will become like a disease that people avoid. Don’t worry; make one to Jesus, for He always picks the calls of friends when they need him most. More so, He never asks you, "What time is it now?" He tells you “coheir, I am on my way, just a little bit of patience.”

That at once illumines and brightens my day because while on earth, the sister of IRS loved him as he even paid his taxes from the mouth of a fish. His legs were his car and now that gas prices are hiking, he would have been treading on familiar territory. Everywhere he visited, he was doing good. Some people did not need to buy medication, for He used just mud to heal their blindness. He prepared a meal in the presence of foes and friends alike, and their baskets were overfilled in a football field. Just with two loaves and five fish, he will fed more than ten thousand.

Look at you with teary face, why are you crying when you can make that early phone call? You think your situation is hopeless, and life is not fair? True, life is hopeless and unfair without a chemistry with Jesus. Don't you see that your Lord loves you so much my brethren? Why do you look unto yourself when your Hope beckons?

Your Master, though gone is always around you. You know He loves you very much. When the devil tries to push you over, you over push him in prayers. When trials and temptations come over you in their myriads, you be the overcomer, the Lord has smoothen. Say to yourself, I came to this world not of my choice but of his own likeness. I was made more than a conqueror without a vote, I shall live as a conqueror in the midst of warriors, and I shall die a conqueror, even if all others are killed. Lord unto you I surrender my life. If you need someone to pray with you, please send me a mail.

Can I marry for papers?

“HI MR P.A I HAVE A QUESTION FOR U. WE ALL KNOW THAT ONCE U GET MARRIED BE IT IN ANY FORM WE KNOW THAT IT IS FOR LIFE, FOR BETTER OR FOR WORST.I WILL LIKE U TO ANSWER ME THIS QUESTION OVER THE NET, IS IT GOOD TO GET MARRIED IN THE NAME OF PAPERS, TO HAVE A GOOD STAY IN THIS COUNTRY, AND THEN TO DIVORCE LATTER ON AND GET MARRIED TO UR REAL PARTER IN LIFE? WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ANY BODY THAT DOES THAT, IS THAT PERSON GOING TO HELL FIRE, AND WILL NEVER MAKE HEAVEN. PLEASE THIS QUESTION KEEPS ON DISTURBING MY MIND.”

Introduction:

Brother thank you so much for the question. I will expand this question again even further to include my foreign audience. Is it good to marry someone for money, popularity, for papers and other temporal reasons then divorce them later? What would happen to them who do that? Would they go to hell or to heaven? I will define what marriage is, lay down the dynamics and mechanics and then draw a conclusion.

Marriage has three aspects: a covenant, a covenant in love, and a covenant in love sexually administered. It is a covenant because it is a life and death commitment. The institution of marriage is not by force when the Bible says: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” (Gen 2:24).

There are only two occasions for a man to divorce. The first is if there is illicit sex (Mt 19:9), and the second is abandonment (I Cor 7: 15). The second point would seem new to many, but abandonment is tantamount to someone who is dead. Except the spouse dies, digamy is sinful (Rom 7:1-3; I Cor 7:39). When a spouse abandons a covenant, they are considered dead, and the living partner is no more under the covenant because a covenant is only alive by two parties coming together (Mt 22:32, I Cor 7:15).

Is it good to get married for papers?

God intended for marriage to be till death (Gen 2:24). Once we have this mentality then with hope we can fight to make our marriage work. Marriage has at least three purposes. Firstly, for a help meet or companion (Gen 2:20). Secondly, it is a medium of fulfilling the sanction of multiplication (Gen 1:28) and lastly a means to avoid fornication (I Cor. 7:1-2). Divorce and bachelorhood are not the primordial intentions of God for man (Gen 2:18, Mt. 19:3-9). If we follow the principles of marriage that God set from the beginning then we will expect at least a happy marriage. Prov 18:22 suggests a process of seeking: deep search. Therefore, we have to search for our mate. Then, when we find one we have to avoid premarital sex because it is cheating and cheating begets cheating. By having sex before marriage we open the door for the devil to come into the house. That is why Hollywood marriages go kaput. If relationship was only sex then Hollywood would be in a better predicament. Unfortunately, if love was shoes, then Hollywood would charter all sizes. Jesus explains the origins and conditions for divorce (Mt 19:8).

The analogy of divorce between Israel and God in Ezekiel is a figurative expression that indicates the level of commitment between God and Israel. It is not a physical marriage as that of a man and a husband where sex is involved. God is a spirit and would not have intercourse with humans. Consequently, all those divorces due to abuse, addiction, irresponsibility and what have you other than fornication and abandonment are sinful. In this case, it requires sexual intercourse. John reports from the mouth of the Pharisees, “They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.” (Jn 8:4).

If you are married to an unbelieving partner, and they want to run away, then let them go and you are free to remarry. That is what we call abandonment. That makes the marriage eligible partner passive. It is not saying if you marry someone for papers or for the wrong reasons, you should divorce as is the case today, but that if the unbelieving partner wants to run away, let them go. You are authorized to remarry because marriage is considered a covenant (Rom 7:1-4). Since one of the characteristics of marriage is that it is a covenant, the dead person cannot more partake in the covenant, so it annuls the marriage at once. Once one partner is dead, the living partner is free to remarry because God only honors a covenant between the living (Mat 22:32). In this particular case, it is a state of spiritual widowhood, and widows are permitted to remarry.

I always like to visit Christian websites and read the profiles of singles who are seeking partners for dating, friendship, pen pals or marriage. One quickly realizes the unrealistic conditions that they pose. “I want a man who is financially independent,” but she herself is jobless. In addition, she has a medical condition. Some write, “I want a man who will lead, loves his mother, is financially stable, very spiritual and has six packs," but she herself looks like sponge bob. Some men say, “I want a lady who can cook and who will obey a man and call him master," but he himself is a jerk. Stars want to marry stars, albeit being a star does not mean quality. Hence, it explains the rampant divorce. That is why in 2014 alone there were at least 60 celebrity splits. It is almost the same number each year since 2006. The stars put sex before marriage and cherish status, fame and looks over character. My friends, there is a serpent in every earthly paradise; so beware earthly paradise seekers.

However, if a marriage was contractual in that both the man and the woman knew that it was for mere business purposes,  then that is different. It is against both the law of man and God, but it does not destroy the individual like when they were caught by surprise. In a contractual marriage, sex should not be involved; however, most of the time, after the man has taken his money, he starts to ask for sex from the girl. If she refuses, he rescinds from giving her the papers. Some American women take the money, but whenever there is an immigration court appointment, they become sick. They try to keep the man an eternal slave. Can you relate to this?

Conclusion:

Therefore, those who marry for selfish reasons like getting papers, money, fame, status and then divorce,  commit evil against God and man  (in the case of papers) and man in the last three reason because they are not different from those mentioned in Gal 5:19-21, seeing that they are deceivers, thieves and killers.
Years back I wrote to decry about Africans marrying foreign women and men for papers. People told me I was anti African. Many Africans did that with foreign women to emulate the Eastern Europeans and South Americans, and it is now catching up with them. Nature just has a way of rewarding people in their own coins. Have you ever ignored anyone? Don’t worry, someone too will ignore you. If you deceive anyone and get married to them for a selfish reason, it will catch up with you. People have died before even enjoying their spoils. Marry someone for the right reason of marriage and make up your mind to live with them till kingdom come, and the Lord will give you a  hapy marriage!

Until then, “if a young woman says no to marriage just wait until her breasts sag” (Burundian Proverb).
