The Anglophone Problem

The Anglophone Problem has been now for more than 49 years since the day West Cameroon decided to join East Cameroon. Some people say there is a problem but others think there is no problem. It is expedient to unravel the nature and genesis of this problem. An Anglophone used to be anyone who spoke English. In those days, only two provinces: South West and North West spoke English and were initially called Southern Cameroons. These two provinces started to speak English when the UN handed German Post WWI colonies to Britain and France as Mandatory Territories and later the UNO after Post WWII rehanded the same countries to them as Trust territories. Britain to facilitate governance decided to rule part of her Cameroonian territories with her Nigerian territorieswith English as the main language. The Northern part of Cameroon (the present Gongola State that was renamed Taraba State by the government of Ibahima Babangida Badamusi) was administered from North Eastern Nigeria and the Southern Cameroons was administered through Eastern Nigeria. France decided to rule East Cameroons as French Cameroons where they spoke mainly French.

However, due to the maltreatment the Southern Cameroonians received from East Nigerians especially the Igbos, there were now two groups: those that wanted Southern Cameroon to join East Cameroon and those who wanted Southern Cameroon to remain in Nigeria. Notwithstanding there were others that wanted Southern Cameroon to be a country on its own. Finally, after the plebiscite of 1961, Southern Cameroon voted to join East Cameroon while Northern Cameroon voted to join Nigeria. The union between Northern Cameroon and Nigeria has gone so far smoothly but the one between Southern Cameroons has failed to blend and bond. Rather we have seen the formation of separatists groups like Southern Cameroon National Congress (SCNC ), Southern Cameroon Youth League(SCYL) Ambazonia (the country name for Southern Cameroons), and Southern Cameroon People’s Organization (SCAPO) fighting for the total independence of Southern Cameroons.

During this time of the union, Southern Cameroonians learnt French and French Cameroonians leant English thereby escheating the Southern Cameroonians of the sole privilege of calling themselves Anglophones since the term Anglophone was for anyone who spoke English and was mimicking the Anglo-Saxon culture. Nonetheless, when the term is used closely, it simply means those from Southern Cameroons. When the term is used politically it refers to those who are Southern Cameroonians. These are the Cameroonians who rightly believe they have never been integrated into French Cameroon or the Republic of Cameroon. With the advent of the unitary government of 1972, the institutions of Southern Cameroon were all destroyed to make way for solely the East Cameroonian institutions.

Unlike their northern counterparts who joined Nigeria, Southern Cameroons was never integrated into the union. No one can easily tell that the present Taraba state in Nigeria was part of Cameroon for there is even infrastructural, social, psychological, and political connection which Southern Cameroons misses. When Southern Cameroon was joining East Cameroon it was in terms of partnership. The union was not forever since they have lived for some time as separate entities. Thus they do have the right if they decide to secede from the union since it has failed to fulfill their aspirations and the terms of the federation.

Southern Cameroonians always feel they are marginalized since all through the more than 49 years of the union, only French Cameroonians have ruled it with the prime minster position given as crumb to Southern Cameroons who bark for it between the North West and South West. All the key ministerial positions always go to East Cameroon with the inconsequential ones again thrown as bones to the dogs of Southern Cameroon. Look at the national teams be it football, basketball or whatever team you will see Anglophone conspicuously lacking. Not because they lack talents but because of their peregrinity-Southern Cameroon. Most new infrastructures have been constructed only in French Cameroon and those left behind by the Germans have been left to rot in dilapidation even though the bulk of the money that does these constructions comes from Southern Cameroon. French language which was the official language of French Cameroon has been made the de facto dominant national language even though the country says it is bilingual. There are still many government documents and exams that are solely in French. Most government scholarships are issued only to East Cameroonians even those coming to America meanwhile they do not even speak English. This has bred a lot of animosity amongst Southern Cameroonians with some calling for a separate country of their own while others are calling for integration but much more as partners.

While it was easy for Northern Cameroon to integrate in East Nigeria because they were the same Mambilla people who live in the Mambilla Pleatau in Nigeria and in the Tikar Plain in Cameroon . One thing that may not favor the separation of Southern Cameroons from East Cameroon is that there are many ethnic and sub ethnic groups. In addition, those freedom groups and separatist movements struggling to represent the region are fighting amongst themselves for supremacy of the region and this had brought in a lot of skirmishes which the government has exploited. The two dominant provinces have always lived in distrust because those from the South West let by Emmanuel Endeley believe that John Ngu Foncha of the North West sold them to French Cameroon. That mutual distrust needs to be annihilated for them to become a group to reckon with. The third reason is that skeptics who flashback at history with India as case study, find little solace to believe that if Southern Cameroon breaks off from East Cameron it will find peace. Pakistan broke off from India and Bangladesh broke off from Pakistan. Presently each of them is still threatened with breakaways factions.

Nevertheless, the failure to solve this Anglophone problem; though it lies is like a boiling cauldron or a sleeping volcano that will explode with time. It is the right time and chance that is needed for a similar situation like in Ivory Coast, Sierra Leon, Liberia, Chad, Congo, Somalia, and many other places where they have been ethnic wars for it to become a warzone. The reason why it is even difficult and even prolonged is because of the different ethnic groups in Cameroon which seem to distrust each other. In Addition, Southern Cameroon has lacked a charismatic leader that could breach the gap between the two areas: North West Province and South West Province and galvanize support even from French Cameroonians who could feel threatened.

Nonetheless, though there is such great mistrust between Southern Cameroons and French Cameroon the union could actually be improved. The presidency should be rotational after every seven years between East Cameroon and Southern Cameroons. The major ministerial posts should go to the opposite section that takes the Prime Minister position to balance the power. Translation should be done on all government official documents and there should be more integration of Anglophones into all other aspects of the Cameroonian life. Though there is a lot of intermarriages the government should actually use that as a program and project which will bring more integration than before. Without pretensions there is a problem and this problem must be solved expediently. The reason why this problem should be taken seriously is that though the oppressed may be dormant for some time when they wake up they do some with blood when the whirlwind of change blows through. For one reason or the other God always sides with the oppressed.
Until then let us strive to live in peace with all men as much as it deepens on us for blessed are the peacemakers for they shall God.

Are Black Women Victims In Tiger's Harem Saga?.

Rev Al Sharpton did not say that Tiger should have varied his harem of mistresses. It was a satire. However, there is such a notion "why are you successful black men always running after white women"? So the satire is merely echoing aloud what some are murmuring in their corridors. As a man who has had an unfaithful brother in law, and a friend who has gone through an unfaithful husband, I can say the victim here is Elin and not Tiger or the black women.

Perhaps we should have argued that the black women are also the victims for not being murdered by Matthew Emanuel Macon since he raped and murdered 5 white women. If the black woman is a victim because Tiger did not cheat with her then she is a victim too when Matthew did not murder her. I don’t think Tiger not cheating with any black ladies should affect them. Perhaps it may merely say that it is difficult to cheat with a black lady and for it to stay a secret for a long time since the scope of the secret will be limited and could easily bring divulgement due to the limited cultural setting too. In addition, one does not need to cheat with the black woman to proof that the black woman is beautiful too. It is a matter of preferences and choices. He prefers white ladies; short and simple.

In addition, since the wife had made herself very mysterious it would be possible for some ignoramus to see him with the woman and think that he is with the wife because most people did not even know the wife. It is this cheating saga that made the wife to be known a little bit. If he was seen with a black lady it would be very easy for anyone to say I saw him in the hotel with a black woman because we know he is not married to a black woman. Those could be some of the reasons why Tiger may not have cheated with the black lady.

Indeed every reasonable person would agree with you and me that Elin was and is a far greater victim than Tiger. Those undoings you have unraveled as being the prima facie of his aberrations could be regulated with his superego (what we generally call a conscience). Don’t you think if he had such great privation at childhood then he had a conscience too? The length of his privation does not supersede the length of his freedom. How would his childhood have been a factor when he was liberated from the age of 18. This is the age of majority in America and most or all kids take their rights into their own hands. Neither his father nor mother wooed those ladies for him. So how would his childhood be much a factor though? This is a man that had the world under his feet, and from whose straw vultures sucked nectar that made them rich.

Notwithstanding, the quality of his women leaves much to be desired. No wonder they are crawling out of their holes for big paydays and per diems after all who would have heard of them. I will reunderline a few concepts and principles about marriage. If I were Elin, I would not divorce, but I will not increase the prenuptials for it makes her look like a commodity on lease with a lien holder. The advertisement could easily read: Wife for lease, 75 millions in 7 years and the parents hold the lien. Almost like a car on lease with the bank as lien holder. What a wicked way of debasing another human being.

I have heard many ask this question: “why did he even get married in the first place”? Yes, I may reask the same question. Marriage is a bond in blood sexually administered. That means; two people: male and female enter into a covenant and vow their lives to each other until death do them part. At that moment they surrender the rights of their bodies to their spouses and vice versa. They then embark on a journey to make each member of the covenant happy and joyful in their trust, honesty, faithfulness, love and care. Cheating out of marriage shows unhappiness and shows a disregard for the covenant. You see, marriage is not for everyone and for those who can stay without getting married they should do that but if you get married there are norms you must abide by. You can no more live your life as if you are single and ready to mingle; sleeping here and there: sucking this straw and licking this lollipop for they come with consequences.

My late sister picked up diseases from her late unfaithful husband. It was a nightmare to us for who knew what diseases will kill her. Sadly, that which we feared was what finally befell her. So definitely, without even the personal testimony of my sister just the fact that the Bible is against infidelity I will and every Christian too should be against it no matter what color or gender you are.

Unfaithfulness is really something that damages the soul and lives of the victims.Surprisingly people are quoting Angelina Jolie who says she believes in open relationship . She is absolutely right. Why shouldn’t she? First she took another woman’s (Jennifer Aniston) man: Brad Pitt and we can see what Jennifer became thereafter. She has tried to show a plastic smile and joy in public but she is a shadow of the buoyant young woman America and the world had known. If Jolie says she believes in close relationship then she destroys her own very character, because she will be asked to restitute Jen’s husband first before she is eligible to mount the soapbox of fidelity. So to still be a woman of probity and decorum, and the husband snatcher we all know her to be, she will need to embrace open relationships as a model that is fair and equitable.

The problem in this case is that neither Tiger nor Elin went in for an open and closed relationship. In America what we know is monogamy. If he wanted to be a polygynist he should have moved to Africa or Latin American so he can marry 101 wives like late Mongo Faya or King Sobhuza II who had 70 wives and more than 1000 kids. While I do not place monogamy above polygamy, I do believe that people should stay within the confinements of their covenants. If you signed for monogamy you must be a monogamist with no side mistresses left and right. That teaches young people to uphold faithfulness and honesty.

Nevertheless, whether he cheated with a black lady or a white woman, cheating is cheating and it is infidelity. It destroys the covenant and destroys the marriage. Once a marriage is kaput then divorce is eminent and the kids pick the broken pieces. A chain of unhappy, and less family oriented citizens are being raised. The cycle continues.

Until then, Bonyfish beware because the same net that caught the jawless fish, caught the cartilaginous fish.

Christmas: Carpe Diem or Lebensfreude?

Christmas was not for Carpe Diem and existentialism. Carpe Diem is not lebensfreude; it is a sign of hopelessness and frustration. The Israelites were in a national danger from the attack of the Assyrians who had surrounded them. Rather than repent for God to help them they decided to embrace the philosophy of Carpe Diem by saying: let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we shall die” (Is 22:13).Many people say let us eat and drink for we have only one life to live. That is not true. Even those who do not go to church know that there is life after death and each life carries consequences. We all know that if we had a way of solving our shortcomings or sins, transform our hopeless situations and conjure a magic prayer for God to answer us instantaneously we will not; I mean no one will say let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die. Rather many will look into the future with hope and anticipation and everybody will say let us eat and drink for tomorrow we live. So is Christmas for making merry or merry making?

There has never been a solved debate on the validity of the 25th of December as the day Christ was born. However, everyone is certain the date foreshadows hope and foretells a bright future for those who will trust in Him. On the day He was born, began the beginning of redemption and the paroxysm was his death. Christ died that humanity may have rest and hope. Many have joined in this celebration and a few more resist and reject the feast. They argue that they are not Christians. Whether they believe in him or not or trust the date or not one question abounds: Does Christmas really bring hope to you?

During Christmas we have traditionalized the habit of giving gifts and perfunctory Christmas wishes. I mean wishes that mean really nothing. Even in the course of giving the ethos thereof is defeated because the gifts nowadays have two classes: the poor man’s gift and the rich man’s gift. Gifts actually were for the poor and not for the rich. When the Jews had rested from all their enemies and their sorrow was turned to joy; from mourning into a good day they decided to feast and enjoy, sending portions to one another and gifts to the poor (Esther 9:22). Wasn'that true delectation and true lebensfreude?

Let me ask you this: if you are running away from creditors and collectors, would you tell me you are enjoyng life? If you are a valetudinarian would you tell me you are enjoying life? If you longed for a life partner and cannot have would you tell me Christmas (joy and peace) has come unto you? If your family is in tatters would you tell me that Christmas has come unto you? What would one day celebration do unto you?

No one would do drugs if they are happy. No one will divorce if they are happy. No one will kill if they are happy. No one will cheat in their marriage if they are happy. No one will prostitute themselves if they are happy. All these vices occur because somewhere beneath, I mean underneath our much hidden and synthetic lives we feel unfulfilled. The fact that you want a family but your time of bearing children and starting a family is slipping away should make you approach life differently. I mean in repentance of your sins so that God who gives true enjoyment would give you the desire of your heart and bring you real joie de vivre. Wouldn't you now desire tue Christmas?

Until then, Happy and Christful Christmas.

Foe Atangana: When An Ambassador Embarrasses His Country.

There could be a million and one versions out there, but the undeniable truism is that the ambassador was involved in a scuffle as you read from the neutral American press . Should the ambassador be in the embassy minding diplomatic and local business, or should he be in the street fighting? When he was being sent to the US, was fighting in the street part of his job description? Was he hired as a bouncer to the embassy, or was he appointed as the ambassador of the Cameroon government to the US? Some to sway public sympathy alleged that Sesekou Joe Mbu asked for $2,800 and when confronted they said Mr. Mpeck asked for $2,800. All bundles of fabrications!

Public records state that when the police dispatcher was sent to the embassy because the police was called that the ambassador was being assailed; the police officer on arrival made some discoveries. The police report states clearly that the ambassador was at the wrong and if not of diplomatic immunity he should have been arrested. Initially they thought Mr. Mpeck was at fault but after on- the-scene investigation and witness statement, the police discovered that the ambassador was the assailant. The reason why the ambassador was not arrested was due to his invocation of the diplomatic immunity else he should have been arrested for simple battery. The Camera woman was transported to the hospital because she suffered a neck injury for hitting her head on the car, and her camera was damaged.

Stepping out of the embassy space was overstepping his bounds and punishable as privacy invasion. Surprisingly some in the Diaspora are happy he did it because it is the CPDM against a member of government. How can you be happy when people are being denied their inalienable divine entrusted rights to every human being? While we are struggling to stay afloat racist waters in the US, the guillotine blade of oppression is still pursuing us from Africa. And you think it is normal?

Immediately after the saga, some to invest for future favors from the ambassador quickly rose to the ambassador’s defense. The most notable is the impostor calling himself Chairman of MECA USA. The usurper (in whose veins flows no iota of truth) in his usual tintinnabulation quickly put out a rambling prose making CPDM (ruling party) USA the scapegoat because he has an axe to grind with its president-Sesekou Joe Mbu.

Mr. Mpeck obtained an authorization under his organization for Mpeck and associates where he recruited more than 20 Cameroonians to protest. Before he went to the embassy, he had forewarned the embassy, and the State Department, and obtained even a permit to march. He did not march with any CPDM uniform. How does it concern CPDM? No one knows except some like Mrs. Tamfu who threatened Tata Asok Akebe Mbi Ebini.

Mr. Mpeck is of age to assume responsibility of his own actions and did that on his own volition, and not even under the guise of CPDM. Within the CPDM, meetings were help to pressurize Mr. Mpeck to apologize and coerced disciplinary action. It does not mean because someone is in the CPDM, he or she cannot stand against evil in the country. Mr. Mpeck was not protesting as a CPDM member; he was acting under his NGO. The embassy and ambassador are not the property of the CPDM; they are for all Cameroonians. Consequently, CPDM by intervening was converting the misbehavior of the ambassador into a CPDM imbroglio.

The crux of this matter is the violation of human rights. Isn’t it the Big Man Syndrome that has possessed our ambassador to think that he can just get up, cross the road and go kick the butts of those “foolish boys and girls” trying to march against “his” embassy? Whether Mr. Mpeg and his group marched for money or not, whether he is CPDM or not is inconsequential.

The CPDM members who refuse to condemn such behavior are actually the ones tarnishing the image of the party because the ambassador has the local police and secret service to maintain peace and security. This is unacceptable behavior for an ambassador and unacceptable in the 21st century as Innocent Chia decries to the Secretary of State: Hillary Clinton. Who fights with a woman nowadays? Or who beats up women again nowadays?

He had two ways he could have handled the issue: step outside and tell the protesters, listen: I am with you. I will investigate the matter. We will not accept corruption. Or he would have called them in and given them drinks. If they were hungry people as is usually the sickness of Cameroonians they will eat, drank and dance and like Tamfu and the sheep they will all dance out mock mock mock and start singing meh meh meh. “Long live the ambassador and may Mpeck and his other enemies die before their time”. Unfortunately, he wanted to give a free exhibition of his fighting skills.

The commentaries ran thus: oh well, the ambassador just gave Mr. Mpeck a jab with the left hand, a jab with the right hand and an upper cut. Mpeck seems to retreat and now the ambassador stalks the female photographer, kaka her ndama (holds her under the guillotine choke); trying to submit her, she scratches his eyes, and runs away. As the ambassador was crossing the road back to the embassy, he was knocked down by a bike. The police tries to separate the fight, but the spectators urged them to fight on. I heard a female voice say: "leave them make they die, na so so CPDM them". Another one shouted again: you no di shame sef you di fight woman. An American passing by wondered aloud: "did you say that is the ambassador of Africa. Which part in Africa"? Since there is no referee the spectators (especially SCNC and SDF) are the umpire: they count one, two and three, and the ambassador is out. He loses the fight because he runs back into the embassy.

Nonetheless, the ambassador is a human being, he made a mistake; he should invite the community together and apologize for such misbehavior. His mistake should not outweigh his good projects. I will invite both Mr. Mpeck and the ambassador to negotiate out of court. Even if Mr. Foe Atangana is sent back to Cameroon and a new ambassador sent here, it does not mean good reforms. Together let us rally behind him and give him the support he needs to turn the embassy around. I hear he has wonderful plans. So let’s give him our support so that he implements these policies.

Until then, I wish both parties well.

"The Anglophone Character Myth"

My paternal and maternal families hold regal rights in Ntenako, Manyu Division where I was born. In those days Sam Egbe-Achang played drums for animals to dance for our entertainment, and deep in the village, Ekpe was played underneath the Ma-mbi-mbi brook. I am the son of the soil who rushed out under the groans of thunder and the strikes of lightning, and swam in crocodile infested rivers as they sat on the other side and watch us swim. Deep in the forest for hunting expedition, we have crossed path with the lion and the jaguar without fear. Listen to me: I speak not as a stranger for I was born a Manyang speaking Kenyang. I did not know bread and tea for breakfast; I knew Fufu and Eru. I did not sleep on a mattress bed; I slept on mebohs (mud bed). In the morning and afternoon I trekked to and fro Presbyterian Primary School Ntenako- Ndekwai. On Sunday morning with my paternal family we went to the Catholic Church with the catechist- my granddad: the son of the sky who could walk barefooted on broken bottles and comes out unhurt. In church, we spoke Pidgin and recited Latin. In school we spoke English but could get an extra help from Kenyang. So I am English speaking. Yes, I am an Anglophone! The Anglophones have been kidnapped by carpe diem but they have a scapegoat: Francophones.

Let me start by faulting the title. The term myth is used in its extended meaning to mean false belief. This belief progressively became a folktale that has been told to successive generations that the Anglophone was more righteous than the Francophone, and that the demise of the Anglophone was orchestrated by the Francophone. Children are born, and they grow up believing the illusion. Consequently it is a folktale about the Anglophone perfect Character than myth. Here is why the folktale is fictional.

The failure to tar the Kumba-Mamfe road is not the fault of the Francophones but the Anglophones who embezzled the money and deceived the former president that the road had been tarred. In most of our secondary schools and high schools, those principals taking bribe were and are Anglophones. One would argue that they have been corrupted by their peers in Cameroon but why were they not enlightened by the education they took from overseas? Some of the nurses who take bribe in hospitals have never lived in a Francophone area. Our courts are all messed up by Anglophone lawyers and judges.

The corporations headed by Anglophones did not do well. Most of them stole the money and ran abroad with some of them actually now living in the US; parading themselves as success stories. There are some reasons why people get influenced: society, religion, education, calamities, and the nature of man. Let us say that if the Anglophones were not influenced by the first four at least the last one could do the trick. Let us use the presupposition method to attain to some logic:
Every human being sins.
Anglophones are human beings.
Therefore, Anglophones sin.

If they are human beings born with sin then by virtue of their sinful nature they do not need the Francophone to indoctrinate them into sin. Indeed "evil communications corrupt good manners" but that is when there is good and evil. In the case of the Anglophones and Francophones, both were and are as corrupt as each other. There is no guarantee that an Anglophone will rule Cameroon better than a Francophone for good governance does not depend on the type of language you speak. Leaders are born and made into great leaders not by virtue of the language they speak, but by the wisdom they apply in judgment. If the Francophones are the problem why do Anglophone groups with no francophone not do better then? Why did institutions where only Anglophones were leading not fare better? If Anglophones are better than Francophones why do their marriages too fail just like those of Francophones? I do not see how somebody will be smarter or more righteous simply by the language they speak or because they assimilate the Anglo Saxon culture.

If that was the case then countries where only English is spoken or which inherited entirely the Anglo Saxon culture will be the very best in Africa. It took “enlightened despots” like Rawlings to set Ghana on the track and Nigeria though not having anything to do with Francophone culture is one of the most corrupt countries in the world, and actually won the trophy for two years.

Human beings cannot be superior to others by virtue of the language they speak. Consequently, Anglophones cannot have a better character to Francophones. People should not be treated as a group; they should be treated as individuals. There are very bad Francophones like there are very bad Anglophones. There are very corrupt Francophones like there are very corrupt Anglophones. To solve this Anglophone and Francophone folktale we must abolish this thought pattern.

I grew up in Douala but went to secondary school in GSS Nguti and High school in CHS Bambui (in English speaking provinces or Anglophone provinces). In Douala I walked, ate and slept with my brotherly Francophones friends like Armand and Bayard. Armand was Beti and Bayard was Yabassi. We did our mischief together and did our exploits together. Never did they ever show any weakness because they were Francophones or never did I ever show any strength because I was Anglophone. I lived in Yaoundé for 9years and saw very bad Anglophones like I saw very bad francophones. The time has come for us to live as one and treat people as individuals for what they do and not by the language they speak. Until then, it is a folktale to think that Anglophones have a better character than Francophones.

Tiger and Elin, The Couple Money Could Not Bond.

Tiger woods and Elin Nordegren were the ideal couple and gossip killers. Tiger’s life off the court has always been one of a mystery and adding Elin into it was enough mystery to worry the paparazzi and messageless journalists. That will all change when Elin finds out that Tiger was cheating on her with Jamie Grubbs, Rachel Uchitel,Mindy Lawton,Jamie Jungers, Cori Rist, Holly Sampson and Kalika Moguin with many more to proclaim their sin in the open. No shame; each in her turn comes out to broadcast she has been sleeping with a married man. Yes, you heard me well; a married man. Not for confession and ablution, but for fame and money. It is only in America and the Western world that people boast of adultery but in other places, adultery brings indignity . In Africa they parade you both naked .By the way even if someone was paraded naked in the US rather than punishmnet it will be entertainment since the people pay to see nakedness. Strip club here and strip club there.

Perhaps looking at these pictures from Africa you quickly cite “He that is without sin among you let him first cast a stone at her” (Jn 8:7). That verse does not annul societal collective responsibility towards sin. If so then Paul would not have assigned the Corinthians “not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat” (I Cor 5: 11). And if that verse meant no punishment for sinners then why do you support anyone to be jailed for whatsoever crime? Indeed all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, but sinners should repent and not boast of their sins for money. Indeed when someone falls we have to sympathize with them, but it does not peter out a mild rebuke. That is the collective responsibility we owe each other. It always amazes me how women like to sleep with the husbands of others but when they sleep with theirs they cry foul. Look how they are coming out as if they have been competing for the Tiger's Cup.

Permit me start with Elin’s violence, and lack of godliness in handling the issue. Indeed I fault Elin less because I know anger can lead you to terrible things. There is a young man currently serving life sentence for killing the boyfriend of the ex-wife.

It is ironic that the same iron that Tiger has used to torment the lives of his opponents is the same iron that was used in tormenting his own life. People should learn how to either invite family to solve marital problems or go to counseling without resorting to violence. We must learn not to make decisions when angry. She would have killed him and ruined her own life simply because of anger. Elin had both parents in the house at the time for Thanksgiving which was a great blessing. She would have called them to talk to him, and put some sense in his head. In addition, making things public was merely biting the very finger that starves her. Don’t forget she has two kids with him and these kids need a better future.

Here is where Elin dug the grave of her marriage. She is a model; beautiful and married, but she shies away regularly from public view. It is in the course of her absence that Tiger got involved. In their pre-nuptials it was stated that she will be appearing in every public functions. But in most functions she decided to be the mysterious wife. That is how the vultures fed on her corpse and now she struggles to survive. If you do not want vultures to eat you then don’t die in the street.

Now let’s look at Tiger. It is unfathomable that a man with a very beautiful wife, and such great Palmarès would be that disrespectful to his own legacy and mores. Others attribute his unfaithfulness to his youth age. That too is pure bunkum. Marriage is not for kids; if you get married then live by the norms of marriage. Still others theorize that the wife was not going out with him and so he should not be faulted. That merely shows the moral bankruptcy of the society that good is bad and bad is good. Those are no excuses to sleep with one, two, three, four, five, six, seven known waitresses and other unknown hookers. The excuse that his childhood was clamped and now his psyche desires experiencing his newly found freedom is hogwash. No, it is the absence of godliness within! Satan and his works: infidelity, murder, violence and many more have taken hold of the present generation. Perhaps when the Son of Man returns to earth he will no more find faith and faithful people.

When he was getting married he was saying that today I am saying good bye to any swimming pool out there and that Elin belongs to me and I belong to Elin. To show that he does not have the knowledge of marriage as a bond in blood sexually administered he decided to increase her pay out by 55 millions if she will decide to stay with him for two more years. It is not different from taking a girl on lease with the parents as the lien holders. Perhaps banks will start to issue wives on lease now. America Wonder! Surprisingly the woman too is contented with such a decision. You are more or less a merchandize on lease. Sex, should come as a climax of a relationship and as a testament of the bond in blood established through the covenant between the man and the woman, and God in the eyes of earthly witnesses.

As we look at the side players who caused this havoc each of them wants money which befits them the title of hookers and vultures. Perhaps it is high time for the western missionaries to stay back home and take care of business because everything is going wrong back home now. In Africa at least the unbelievers know that adultery is a grevious sin. A Kenyan Bishop had a first hand taste of the jungle justice when caught in flagrant adultery as he was paraded naked. Therefore, prostitutes thank God you live in a morally bankrupt US where you can boast of sleeping with a married man. Life has a wall that splashes mysterious ink. On whatever part of that wall you write you will be stained now or in the future. Therefore, whatever you sow you will definitely reap your emolument.

Tiger should confess and forsake his sins, rededicate himself to the covenant without thinking money would lease the woman for two more years. Elin is his wife, and he is her husband. They should both rededicate themselves to each other in fullness of love. If there are any known vultures out there he should expose them to the wife and family. Now is not the time to abandon him but a time to give him the support he needs to recover. Ignominy is cumbersome; more than a ten year sentence on a riffraff. Elin, must forgive him and put the past behind her back so she can hereafter live happily.

Until then, Tiger should reconsider his morals.
