The Europeans and African Immigrants: Who is right?

“Do you see a British in Zimbabwe yelling to another British to leave for he is an illegal”? When someone is on deportation the people write petition and refuse him from going back and then in most cases their own country governments reject them. The Africans that say that the people should go back are regarded as siding with the oppressor. Some Africans believe that since Africa had suffered from Slavery and Colonization from the hands of Europeans and Americans, the African migrants are right to live in their countries whether legal or illegal.

I always use this line of thought when I want to irritate some of my American pastors in some forums but I really don’t buy it. Instead it makes me laugh indeed. Here are my problems.

Firstly, I do not see why the African governments are rejecting their own citizens though. There are illegal British in some African countries but they are not in jail or being deported by Zimbabwe. If they were, the British Government would make provisions for them. Furthermore, no one says another African should leave simply because he or she is illegal.

Secondly, it matters less whether anyone lives in or leaves Britain. Yet I wonder why anyone would prefer to be in jail in a foreign land than be a free man in his own country. Listen; by persisting to live in jail rather than go and live as a free man in your own country we do not better our lives in any way after all even those with legality do not still harvest money they thought germinates in the streets.

Thirdly, the suggestion that they want to enjoy the riches of those who stole from Africa is a good one but why advise them to sidestep for an escapade meanwhile they have people who stole from Africa as their neighbors? Why don't you send them to go and live in Mobutu's compound; Bokassa left duplexes and Bongo still has his. So why die in foreign jail rather than run to occupy some of those beautiful places?

How did they even bypass all these people up to reaching England? Lord have mercy! Why use a grenade to kill cockroaches when there are insecticides? See; you could advise the young woman or man to take a flight back to Gabon and tell Omar Bongo’s wife that he or she has come to inherit that which rightfully belongs to him /her but was stolen. If not it is embarrassing to hear you say that by people living illegally in a country, they are inheriting that which belongs to them. Their ill-advised actions may reward them with murdrum.

Until then, man, enjoy your day.
